Pros: "great price, arrive in style"

Cons: "not a sports car, but luxury."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"This XJ8 was built by Ford, has the same engine as the Lincoln. No problems with the vehicle. The resale values are obscenely low. However that is an advantage for the purchaser. We will not sale this XJ but rather keep it in the family as an extra vehicle."

Pros: "MPG, handling, comfort. interior roominess"

Cons: "none"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Simply stated... they don't make them like this anymore. I have over 135K miles on mine and it still drives like the day I bought it. This car is a true drivers car: a combination of handling and comfort that you won't find anywhere else. The cabin is elegant and very well laid out and the MPG (which averages around 21 MPG) is amazing when you consider the age and the size. The car is a bargain in today's market and instead of a $900 a month payment on 'something new' put that in the bank each month and you will still come out way ahead even if you spend a couple of thousand a year on upkeep... which is imperative. I have changed oil every 3,000 miles or 4-5 months since new and replaced the transmission and timing chain... not bad for 16 years of driving. I love this car."

Pros: "good looking,good driving,good mpg,best bang for $"

Cons: "Parts are expensive, need jaguar specialist"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"These cars are great if you have a good one. The interiors are excellent and hold up well. They handle and perform well. The things to be careful of are timing chains on the early V8. The transmissions can have issues around 75k. The differential occasionally can develop a hum. The fuel pump can die of a heart attack. AAA saved the day for me when that happened. I have seen many of these cars with high mileage,in good condition and know many passionate owners of these vehicles. They don't hold there value and buying one can be the best buy if you find a good one, it can be also very expensive to repair."

Pros: "Great power and cornering---a drivers' experience."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"First, if you only use a dealer for maintenance and repairs, it will be costly to own this car----at least $2k -$3k per year. Best to find a private recommended garage especially owned by a Jag afficionado. UNLESS you can get a good deal leasing. Second, VERY reliable. Not like the pre-Ford Jaguars. Third, an incredible driving experience with extremely comfortable driver's seat. I intend to keep mine as long as I possibly can."
