Pros: "Value - Ride quality - Handling - Power - Beauty"

Cons: "I'd take 50 more HP - but 390 was great in 05"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Have had 4 jags - 3 "R" models. Had an '03 STR that I purchased new -traded for a used 2005 model in 2009 since the 2005 model had only 12,500 miles. Great paint - wonderful interior - handles great - quite powerful. Love the ride - wonderful road car. Past reputation for poor quality should be put to rest, as plants were modernized and production quality improved a great deal under Ford's ownership and with Ford's money. TaTa is now reaping the benefit and the cars are equal to anything on the road - great values. (Cars remain British - constructed in Britain - designed in Britain). Ride is very comfortable. Steering is superb. Brakes are fantasitic (Brembo). Supercharged. Two intercoolers (actually there is a 3rd). Just a joy to take out and drive. I will keep this car for a very long time."

Pros: "looks beautiful"

Cons: "Mechanically they suck!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4

"This 2005 Jaguar S type, although it shows beautifully is definitely not worth your money. Although mine only has less than 68,000 miles, already it needs a new transmission. Same issue I had with a previous Jaguar I owned. Also the way the car handles is not that great. As a Mercedes Benz owner as well, I wish Jaguar could take some tips and make their cars handle like a Mercedes!"

Pros: "Fast agile-handling comfortable big fun"

Cons: "Repairs are expensive"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I have owned this S Type R for 7 years. This car has been a pleasure to own. Styling is first rate if you like the retro Jag mkII look that is classic and gets head turns where ever we go. When parking valet at a fine restaurant they always park it at the door in front. Interior is snug but has high quality materials, is well laid out and is very comfortable and even a little sporty. Performance is off the charts, it will make any model from BMW/Audi/Volvo look stupid if they challenge you when merging or changing lanes. I have taken mine to Road America and surprised many a Mustang or Vet owner on track. Handing and ride work on both the track and on the road. I recommend this car for its value and performance in that you can drive it normally everyday, even a novice driver and it will behave like a luxury car. But you can also push the limits on the road, track and in the snow and the car steps up effortlessly and has never let me down. This car is big fun and a great value!"

"I purchased my 06 Black Jag S-Type in 09... With only 9800 miles on it... I now have racked up 38,000 miles and have had basic maintenance. I love this car, it is a classic look... The new body style just does not compare....A jag has always been my dream car and I get lots of compliments on it and don't have any desire to trade it...there's just not anything out there that gets it...I traded an 07 Infinity for this car with no regret...This true Jag look is extinct...."
