I own this car - My approximate mileage is 110,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Lots of truck for the money"
Cons: "Rock solid engine"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I've owned it for six years and the only repair I've had to do was replace the starter - a super easy do-it-yourself fix in my driveway. I get 19mpg on the highway which is not great but it is a big mass pushing through the air. Stock springs and shocks are quite soft. I replaced them with stiffer aftermarket units and love the car even more now. Great towing capability. Quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 118,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Great interior, warranty and looks great."
Cons: "None"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"This is my second Trooper. Purchased my first one in1987 and sold it with 175,000 miles. I only sold it to buy a new 2002 Trooper knowing that would be the last year the car would be produced. I wish I had kept the 1987 too. Loved the manual transmission, 4wd and manual roll down windows. Isuzu has the BEST warranty (10 years/120,000). Other than normal maintenance, my transmission had to be replaced at 110,000 miles which was under warranty. The starter recently went out at 115,000. I truly love this car. It is so comfortable and I haven't found anything I like on the market that is similar and/or has a great warranty. My problem is that there are few dealers to service and they are telling me there will be problems getting parts in the next few years. I know Isuzu has SUV's in other countries but they are not importing to USA. I've seen SO many Troopers in South and Central America. My Troopers are part of my family...both of my sons learned to drive with them. I'd buy a third in a minute""

"Great vehicle. I purchased it in 2004, it is a 2002 model. Only had to have transmission work. Engine in great condition. No major problems. Loved the vehicle. Worth every dollar. Would definitely recommend. I purchased this as a working single mother and needed a reliable vehicle. It has been just that to me!"

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Gas mileage. - My approximate mileage is 154,000
Pros: "Comfort, power, reliability."
Cons: "Gas mileage."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7
"I am not going to say a lot here. My wife bought this truck in 2002, we never had significant problem with it except a normal wear and tear. The muffler had a hole in the middle which made it noisy to drive; the gas mileage was not up to standard (11 miles per gallon) and other small problems. We traded it on Monday for hybrid Camry. I am still emotional about our Isuzu, it was part of the family."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 180
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsPros: "never broke down"
Cons: "a sherman tank is faster and less heavier"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4
"It's built like a tank, sways big time on a windy day crossing the golden gate bridge. It gets 8 miles to the gallon but never stalled on me so far. I bought it second hand from a car dealer for $2300 at 170.000 miles over 2 years ago, so I got my moneys worth."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 104,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Visibility, turning radius, 4X4 capability"
Cons: "CD disc player is not reliable, transmission @ 90K"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This is my 2nd trooper, my first was a 1999 limited, and my experience with each of them has been excellent overall. The visibility is outstanding, in my opinion best in class. The turning radius is exceptionally small for a vehicle of its size. I wish they still made, them I would buy another in an instant !!!! Only problem, based on my experiences, is to expect to rebuild the transmission at some where around the 90,000 to 110,000 mile range. Other than that these vehicles have preformed excellently for me !!"
