Pros: "Fun to drive and comfortable"

Cons: "Cup holders in front and back."

"Has scratch on drivers side but has been buffed and putty. No rust present. It is a pretty vehicle if someone can takengood care of it. Have been through a divorce and was left with nothing. This Rodeo would make a great car for as well as fun It has four doors great family. Must see to appreciate."

Pros: "It's a good commute car on a low budget"

Cons: "Repairs more expensive than car value"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6

"I have some mixed feelings about my Rodeo. For the most part it's been pretty reliable. I own a 99 and bought it at 143,000 miles from an individual for $2,750. I lucked out because I really had no repair work needed in the 5 years that I owned it up until recently. Granted I only drove it 14,000 miles in that 5 year span (to/from school/work), but I never really did any routine maintenance on it and barely even had the oil changed. At 157,000 miles the alternator died, which drained the battery. Together the repair was about $450, but it's been draining oil for a while (manageable). However, I was informed that the head gasket on the engine is also bad, and at this point it's pretty much more expensive than it's worth to fix it. The Check Engine light was on since I bought it for 5 years, but nothing really ever happened. I think the Anti Lock Breaks were bad after a while, too, but I just got used to driving without them. Gas mileage isn't great (about 15 in my experience) but I never really have to worry about someone hurting me too bad in an accident and it can certainly take a beating from hail. Long story short it's a budget car and all in all, it's been pretty reliable for me. However, I do wonder if I had driven it 14,000 miles in one year like most people do, if it would have died the first year I bought it. It was pretty good for a school car, though, and it did everything I needed it to, (start, move, and stop). I feel like overall it was a good buy for me, because I don't drive enough to need anything too fancy, but I'm finally trading up to a Honda because the repairs aren't really worth it considering the car's value."

Pros: "power, small, great gearing ratio"

Cons: "low to the ground, common fuel problem"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"ive owned my 01 rodeo for about a month now. It drives great, has some power, and gets decent mileage. I love the power and winter options it has at the ready, along with the autolocking hubs and 4x4 button. I have had to do some work to it, nothing special that any other car would require (EGR VAULVE AND THROTTLE BODY CLEANED) but i noticed that this model and year has a fuel level sensor problem. It throws codes and then you cant pass deq.. going to put it in the shop to get it fixed. Other than that this car has been a blessing so far. wish it was easier to find aftermarket parts for it though!"

Old Version - New one to come soon

"Taking into consideration that owners either really love this Isuzu Rodeo SUV or they really hate it, I'm on the good side of that coin. I have made some changes to affect the performance slightly, but nothing other then performance chips and no engine work per say. This SUV with it's V-6 motor, starts to truly perform when you have it up at the 60 MPH range and above. It easily flies past most all other cars on the road of it's type and most cars overall at those higher speeds. I am very surprised on the smooth level of control and the slick dynamics it creates while driving. For an older ride, I couldn't ask for anything more from it. I have custom graphics on the exterior side panels, custom stripes & pin stripes, slightly wider and taller tires, black painted rims with a red pin stripe, a 1000 & a 1200 watt double amp kit with a capacitor, a DVD/CD double din stereo system in dash with a rear view camera and 10 good quality speakers with an added big sub woofer too. I have racing style seat covers and matching floor mats, custom interior LED lighting, in dash LED lighting, a brush guard and full length side bumper bars both 3" round black steel tubing, G P S guidance and limo black tinted windows with window guard deflectors on all windows. For a 2000 ride, it's a heck of a good looking 15(going on 16), year old SUV. I love it and know with my good up keep it's going to last me for many years."
