Pros: "Reliable, safe, solid, great torque"

Cons: "Poor gas mileage, heated fan air"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 3

"I've driven my FX35 for 10 years. It handles well but you must maintain Bridgestone original tires for performance handling. Michelin tires caused it to fishtail on damp roads, something you never experience with the Bridgestone high performance tires. Flaw 1: There is no such thing as a fan with air that comes in from outside. It is automatically heated as it comes through the engine so you will always have hot air coming in. Service dept. admitted it was a design flaw. This means you might need A/C in cold months if it gets too warm in the car. Flaw 2: Gas mileage is far worse than any comparable small SUV. Lexus SUV gets 25-28. I get 16 mpg on a good day. Right now, getting 14.8 with A/C on doing surface street and some freeway driving. That's not good if you drive a lot every day. Otherwise a very good car. As for repairs, the actuators in the 4 doors have to be replaced, described by my dealer as "lazy"--sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I have 2 doors which sometimes open with my remote or interior door lock switch and sometimes they close or open part way so you have to do it manually. I replaced a sun roof mechanism within warranty once. Practically nothing else in 10 years. So it's for the most part very reliable."

"I bought this car (ok, crossover) new in 2005. I have since put over 250,000 miles on it and love it just as much as the day I bought it. Reliable (obviously), fun to drive, lots of options, great looks."

Fun little SUV--beware blind spots

Pros: "Fun to drive, good bang for the buck"

Cons: "Semi-uncomfortable, blind spots."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I bought this car and immediately drove 3000 miles to Alaska. It handled beautifully in the areas with snow; the traction control and all wheel drive made it possible for me to go the speed limit (or just below) in areas with packed snow. Considering it was only me and I don't own very much stuff, I was able to comfortably sleep in the back with both seats down. That being said, I've never had to sit in the back seat, but it doesn't look overly comfortable--the seats are extremely rigid and I would say that there isn't a ton of leg room behind the driver/passenger seats. I do find it a bit tricky to do city driving in this rig, as the blind spots are really noticeable. It keeps me on my toes and has me triple checking everywhere before I do anything."

"Had a range rover before this SUV and loved them both but I have to say I would take the infiniti over the rover anyday because of the reliability. Both very similar, but never have to worry about anything but routine maintenance on this car, and that's what I was looking for. Will probably drive this fx35 forever! Bought it used with 80,000 miles but it's like brand new! I love it. Highly recommended"
