"The 2007 Tucson 2.0 base FWD model is my 1st and only SUV.Being hard pressed for wheels,I went to the nearest dealer;Hyundai.I purchased it without any research or test drive of any SUV.In all I am very satisfied with it.It has never let me down.I trailered bikes, hauled a fridge, safe, scrap metal. But it has inconvenienced me with: oil change access, radio replacements, power window failures(could have been caused by my dogs),a cloth center console armrest, flaking steering wheel, hole in the door armrest caused by my resting elbow.Maintenance was normal:timing belt, alternator, water pump, oil seals, spark plugs & wires and the original working starter a month ago.Oil changes every 3,333 miles(easier to track).Next SUV?Tucson?CX5? Forrester? This time convenience/safety and reliability will count.A hard choice to make when I get to 300,000!"

"I initially bought a Tuscon because it was affordable and it had a great warranty. 185,000 miles later this car is still going strong and all I have had to do is routine maintenance! This is a great little car and I am going to drive it until the wheels fall off. I may even buy another one for my next vehicle. Would recommend it to anyone."

Pros: "well priced, love driving it, grandson likes it"

"I really love driving this car. It handles well, even in the harsh Maine winters. My whole family fits in it so that's good too. It is 8 years old and all I have had done is regular maintenance and new tires for regular driving and winter driving. Our black lab loves it too. I am female 5'3" and really it's very comfortable to drive and I can actually adjust the seats to my liking and reach all the pedals as well. Yeah!"

Pros: "it's a great little car and quite a bit of seating"

Cons: "terrible gas mpg on hwy 22"

"I have only heard great things about Hyundai. Bought it 2 years ago used so I expected some maintenance. Still owe $5,500 and have put $3,000 into car between alternator, all plugs, wires, all struts, sway bar links, both crossbars. The whole suspension has caused me trouble and I don't get it. I'll never buy again. I've had GMC and Chevy and never had to replace any of these things at 180,000"

Pros: "cheaper than competitors"

Cons: "poor build quality"

"I've owned my car for over 9 years. I have not had any major issues but all the little issues are driving me crazy. The first thing that broke was the ESC in the second year I owned the car. It was fixed under warrenty. Then my CD player broke. It was also replaced under warranty. then 13 months later the new CD player broke and they would not replace it because replacement parts are only under warranty for a year. In year 4 my driver side door handle broke. they would not fix it cuz the bumper to bumper warranty expired. A year later my passenger door handle broke in the exact same way. If current owners look close at their door handles i'm sure most of them will see that the handle is pulling away from the body of the car- aka broken. The left turn signal sticks when it is hot, the motor that switches the vents is broken so I'm stuck in window defrost mode, the shocks to the rear window no longer hold the window up, and a sensor in my seat belt is bad and causes my air bag warning light to be on constantly. Now I know why this car was a few thousand dollars cheaper than its competitors."

Cons: "Engine should be designed to shut down when hot."

"I bought this car from a Laredo dealership years ago and have lived to regret it. Had low miles only 44k but has broken down twice. I take good care of my cars. Had cars older and more miles without breakdowns. Constant trouble now trading it in for a newer car. Never get a Hyundai again! Paint scratches too easily and no warning with engine trouble. Parts more expensive because not widely available, especially if living in Mexico."
