For 2012, the Santa Fe receives only minor changes. These include a new grille, some new color choices and the addition of Downhill Brake Control (DBC) on all models.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is a unibody SUV made for tackling the urban jungle, not braving the actual jungle. Since its introduction in 2000, more than 440,000 have been sold. The Santa Fe is right at home running the kids to soccer practice (made easier with the new optional third-row seat), hauling groceries from the super market or heading to the mountains for the weekend. Combining attributes like a higher seating position, roomy interior, rugged good looks, a long list of standard equipment, a good warranty (10 year/100,000 mile powertrain) and a reasonable price, the Hyundai Santa Fe provides good value in the mid-size SUV category.

"When I went to check out the santa fe I was waiting to be disappointed... I even tried to find something wrong with it. Well I found something alright. It was a SUV that is well worth your money. My wife loved it from the get go... not me I didn't like the styling and the cloth seats were very uncomfortable. but the leather seats changed all that. other than those minor hang ups the vehicle is closely compared to a lexus. I use to be a valet ... I've driven everything and know whats if it's worth the cash. so if you are to drop some coin on this SUV might as well get it with all the bells and whistles...do not settle!!!! oh and with all the saftey features your insurance should go down to. I don't normaly rave about cars but you get a lot for what you pay for...and you don't pay that much. well done hyundia!"

"We had the snowiest winter on record this past season. I am a home health nurse and was driving in every storm we had, and we had a lot of them! I was very impressed with the performance of my Santa Fe. I did not slip or slide and felt safe at all times. I would definitely recommend this vehicle for winter use."

"When looking for a new car, I had the same opinion that most of the world has about Hyundai. Stay away. But, I am extremely surprised by the quality and the features! I opted for the V6 AWD Limited with Navi. (Top of the line) This is the best decision I've ever made! The V6 has a ton of power when driving around town. The All Wheel Drive keeps the car on the road around sharp corners. The heated leather seats, wood grain trim, and sunroof that come with the Limited Edition are great! The seats are very comfortable and are adjustable in every direction. The wood trim in the car appears to be very nice and doesn't look like the usual cheap plastic wood stuff. The sunroof is very large. The Navigation package is fantastic! You can start the car and within 10 seconds, it has connected to the satellites and you're ready to go. It comes with the backup camera also which makes backing into a parking space and a garage a piece of cake! This is definitely a car for anyone looking for every feature available but $15,000 less than the Honda Pilot!"
