Pros: "comfortable, roomy, good price, safe"

Cons: "antenna wrong place--sometimes poor reception"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Traded my 1995 Grand Prix in for this car. Bought it because it was all wheel drive and was moving to where driving on dirt roads is routine. I love this car! I had to bend down to get in my Gran Prix; I have to climb up to get in my husband's truck. For the Santa Fe, I just sit down and swivel my legs in. It's comfortable, reliable, lots of room, multi-purpose, good gas mileage. The hatch in the back allows the option of opening the whole thing or just the window (not available in the newer models--BIG MISTAKE!!). The only thing negative I have to say is that I don't like the antenna in the side rear windows--sometimes makes reception full of static especially around power lines. If I could buy a brand new one with all the same features (except the antenna--the new location is much better), I would do it in a heartbeat!! The price is reasonable and the reliability and comfortability is fantastic!! Come on America--make a car just like it!"

Pros: "Reliable, versatile, good value"

Cons: "Drives like an SUV - but it is!"

"This is a great car! I have had very few problems. A dead AC compressor at 200k and a frozen spare tire crank. That's it besides your normal maintenance (oil, brakes, belts). At 240,000 miles I am still getting 22 MPG. Always starts first try. If it dies, I might just have the engine replaced. Still looks great! At nearly 10 years old still looks current."

"The cas was very over priced and the dealer took me for a ride and I did not get the car I wanted: no mats, splash guards etc... The extra money I spent for an extended warrantee ( $2000) when it was time to use it. It never covered anything especially the on going engine light that had been on sense 35,000 miles and after 2 year of trying to fix the problem I hit 66,000 miles and they told me I needed a new engine and nothing was covered.. Welcome to Hyundai..."

"Overall this may be the best car I've ever owned. When considering cost to buy, cost to maintain, total cost of ownership for 12 years and all those things it can't be beat. The only shortfall might be if you're looking for sports car handling. At 12 years old it still looks stylish. I'd buy a new one in a minute if they still made them. (The new models are bigger with smaller engines)"
