Pros: "Reliability, gas mileage, strong motor."

Cons: "Cheap plasticy built, road noise, handling."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"3rd owner, clocked around 30K miles in two years. Pros: Extremely reliable. Never got stranded anywhere. Took it on long distance trips (longest was > 1.5K miles), took it on really harsh roads (unmaintained gravel roads in WV, steep inclines, I camp a lot), never had a single problem! Car is good on gas, I never got less than 30 mpg combined. Replacement parts are usually very cheap. Engine feels powerful for the size and price. Cons: Cheap built (front door inside door handle broke, cheap plastic). Lots of other cheap plastic parts. Not very comfortable (and not spacious, specially for some one tall, I am 6ft 2"). MAF sensor needed to be replaced once. Lots of road noise at highway speed. Feels like a boat when cornering, even at moderate speeds. Final verdict: I love this car for its reliability. Its an honest car which does what is expected from it. 130K and still going strong. Everything works as they did when it rolled out of the factory nine years ago."

Pros: "VERY REALIABLE and EXCELLENT GAS MILEAGE"

Cons: "Backseat can hold two short people comfortably"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I am in TEARS knowing we are selling our 2005 Hyundai Elantra tomorrow. Here's our story. Our Grandaughter moved in with us when she was 2 years old = enough room for the 3 of us in our Elantra. NOW she is 6 years old, in school and has playdates, ect, ect whereas we need a vehicle with more room to transport her friends. I honestly have NOTHING bad to say about our Hyundai Elantra, with the exception of course of not being able to fit 3 booster seats in the back seat. This car has been an absolute pleasure to own! EXCELLENT GAS MILEAGE still averaging 30mpg. Always reliable, every single start! Elantra, you never let us down. We will miss you sooooo much!!!!"

Pros: "everything else"

Cons: "Slower than expected Breaks"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Bought it brand new for my first son and it was passed on to the others, now has 120K miles and I am using it as second car with 30 mpg, mixed driving mostly for work commute. Very efficient and reliable car. No major repair except for changing clutch twice so far. Perhaps multiple new drivers learning to drive manual transmission is the cause. Hatchback option helps to carry a lot of different stuff in car. In general very happy with the performance of it. Driving good, the only thing is although it has 4 wheel disc break with ABS but breaks are not feeling as fast and strong as expected."

Pros: "cheap/easy to fix, MPGs, snow bunny, good beater"

Cons: "interior is blah, eats alignments"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Husband bought this car for me without test driving it because he didn't know how to drive stick. I had low expectations since the clutch was blown, but after installing a new clutch I put 70,000 miles on it, over-steering through back roads and doing over 100 mph on major highways at times. I have to say this car was worth the money spent and--surprisingly--performed better than a lot of the new(er) cars my friends and family have had during the same period. Not to mention, I take turns at double the suggested speeds and this car keeps up with a "drop a gear and disappear" kind of driving style without modifications or sport-tuning. I'd hate to see what it could do if somebody tuned it. If you want a car to exceed your expectations in performance and durability, get a Hyundai. Get an older Hyundai."

"I bought this car new and have never regretted it . It is amazing in the snow and gets great gas mileage. I am getting a new car in 2015 and all my friends want me to sell them this car and not trade it in . I would highly recommend this car to all ."
