I own this car - My approximate mileage is 70,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "FUEL EFFICIENT, spacious for its size, a GREAT car"
Cons: "Maybe not suited for real tall/bulky clientele"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I love this car. I bought it single and in college, and now I have a husband and two kids (ages 3 & 1) to pack into it. I have had my car for 6 and a half years now and I absolutely love it. I come from a Ford family and my dad laughed at me when I said I bought a Hyundai. HA! This car has made it through winters with 24" of snow (without getting stuck!), trans-country, days and days of rush hour traffic and a couple of fender benders. It's been reliable, WONDERFULLY fuel efficient and I still have no complaints. The only reason I rated it a 9 on Design and Comfort is because my husband is a big guy (6'2") and his hair touches the ceiling when he drives it. Also, he can't be scooted back as far as he'd like with our kiddos in the car. (We just move the rear facing carseat behind the passenger seat when he drives so he can stretch out.) The other 9 on Driving Dynamics is because when you travel on the highway, the noise around you is sort of loud compared to newer cars I've been in. Not a deal breaker by any means, but something to note. Cool cup holders in the backseat. The back seats fold down for access to the trunk. I love the trunk size. It's super spacious for how compact the car is. And, of course, great handling. I LOVE THIS CAR."

"190,000 miles now on my 05 Elantra..other than normal stuff like tires , Oil changes etc..I had to replace starter at 140k CV Joint at 160k... that's it. MPG average for me is 32mpg on a trip to Chicago from Columbus Oh I got very close to 40 [39.6]. This is my 2nd Hyundai...both were very good. What amazes me to is ay 190,000 no rattles. My next car >>>> Hyundaifor sure"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 70,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Reliability"
Cons: "Road niose"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"This 2001 Elantra has been a very good vehicle. It has needed no costly repairs and has required only basic maintenance. Its body integrity is very good, paint job still looks great. Its a fine drive-around-town car since it gets good gas mileage. Its only downside is that, like many compact cars, road noise is fairly high, which can be slightly annoying on long trips. It handles pretty well for a compact car. It has dealt with lots of big urban pot holes without needing frequent wheel realignments, so the suspension system has been pretty sturdy. Overall, this vehicle has been a very good value."

overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Great value, easy to repair."
Cons: "can only haul 2 kids"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I purchased brand new and was well worth it. Now 180K miles and still going strong. I have had to do very few repairs (CV axels, timing belt & radiator) and everything is easy enough to do myself. Have even been hit twice and very little damage to the car. It's a little beast!"
