"This has truly a family car. I drove it for 4 years in San Diego, then my son, Stephen, drove it for a year in Sacremento, then I drove it for 2 years, Then my son Will, drove it for a year in Palm Springs when his car broke down. Then I had it again and now my other son, Brian, has driven it for 3 years in Texas. It has been great and reliable but is getting old. The engine is still strong but has an electrical problem."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 265,000

"I deliver newspapers on a very large rural route (101 miles per day) 358 days a year. It has sad little kisses here and there, because there is no way to deliver for that many hours in a year without occasionally sliding in weird weather or misjudging where the pavement ends and the deliverbox begins. My point is this car runs and runs and runs. I only have two complaints. I have repaired the regulator on the driver's side window four times and it's beginning to behave badly again. Also, the blower for the heater had died now four times in two and 1/2 years. I'm not going to fix it again because I can't afford it. I can'y fix it myself because the location of the blower means that I would have to stand on my head under the panel on the passenger side. Not happening. But, I love this car. I understand that I am hard on it. But it had been very faithful and reliable, and for what I put it through, it's a pretty good sport."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 158,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Comfortable, affordable, good mileage, good looking"

"If the 2012 Elantra wasn't so ugly I would have already bought a new one. I did look at them. The car is outstanding in every way. I take good care of it. Get oil changed every 3000 miles religiously. Get it serviced and checked over often. It has been dependable through 11 winters and summers, ice and snow and heat. It handles great and I still drive it on trips when I need to. It's easy and comfortable to drive. I bought the car to drive and believe me I drive it. The only problem right now is the tape deck. It's messed up. My son wants to put a new tape deck and cd player in the car but I do not want to spend that money, just in case I find another car that I want. Needless to say this car is special - in the way it looks and in its performance. Oh, did I mention gas mileage. On trips I have gotten as high as 38 miles a gallon expressway driving."
