"181,000 miles never even had to change a light bulb,on my third clutch witch in normal, should have been 2 but got a defective pressure plate on the first replacement. Car is still @ 90% of what it was as new."

"As close to an outright racing machine as can be licensed for the street. While it's not going to beat a Cayman/Boxter in S trim, the S2000 will accelerate and corner with the Boxter-Cayman regular trim versions. But here's the good news - the S2000 does it for thousands $$$ less and with absolute reliability that Boxter is lacking. There is a price for the S's precision and absolutely-connected-to-the-road dynamics - a little harshness begins to wear on driver/passenger as America's roads break down from $neglect$.
The S2000 engine is smooth off-idle, and with cams operating roller-equipped "fingers" that then operate valves, valve noise is reduced both at idle, under hard acceleration and at 70-80 MPH. Factory muffler sound level is fairly quiet but rises to a nice growl under full throttle, settling back to a mild "purr" at cruise. My slightly modified mufflers - the "UK" mod for the knowledgable - never sound like a four cylinder putt-putt, but like a highly tuned motorcycle.
Car & Driver, etc, remark that the S2000 transmission is simply the slickest shifting trans. Period. Slick. Shift it with your fingers. The best. Am I understood? Fabulous shifter. Porsche hide your head in shame!
What is bad - seats are snug if you are packing too much bulk in the backside. Top up headroom gets tight at 6' 2". Otherwise, it's the firm ride on America's failing roads. And finally, the '05 S2000 is the pinnacle of Honda's once-fabulous reliability."
"Before you look to buy an S2000, figure out what you are really looking for: Want a car that drivers like a BMW? Buy a BMW. Want a car that's fun, reliable, enjoyable to drive on errands or to take to the beach? Buy a Miata. Want a shot of adrenaline that lasts for hours, find an S2000. It is scary fast. It handles like it is on rails. To sum up the limitations of this car is to simply look in the mirror; the car doesn't fail, the driver runs out of talent. And on top of all these gushing compliments is the best one of all - It is as reliable, well built, cheap to maintain and easy to service as a Honda. I've owned my 2004 with 40,000 miles for 4 years and my maintenance has been annual $56 oil changes . . . Other than having it detailed and filling it with gas, it hasn't needed anything else."
"Excellent seat-of-the-pants sports car. Handles extremely well, powerful, tight but comfortable interior. Rock solid reliability with zero quality problems. Easy to work on (oil changes) and great access to all mechanical components. Engine a little buzzy with the top up but much quieter with the top down. Very powerful but lacking good torque. A Mazda Miata on steroids!"
