I owned and sold this car
Reason: gas prices - My approximate mileage is 145,000
Pros: "fun to drive, looks, reliable, speed, v-tech,"
Cons: "gas miles, rear seat room."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I loved this car, I had one for about 3 years. super fast, reliable, never failed on me. handling and acceleration. I loved the feel of the v-tech kicking in. the only down turn was the fuel miles, I used to get about 24 mpg's with octane 91,high fuel prices and a long commute, I was not able to effort it any more. Now that I don't have a long commute, I wish that it was still made to buy another."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 150,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Very fast, very sporty, and extremely comfortable"
Cons: "Only takes Premium fuel."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have always drooled over the thought of owning my own Prelude for awhile, once I finally found one I was in love. I bought my 2000 Honda Prelude from another Prelude lover back in June of 2012. I have never been happier with a vehicle purchase. This little street racer is every tuner's dream! It has the power to match any V6 out there and at the same time it has great fuel economy (due to the fact that it only takes Premium gas). The styling is superb, extremely advanced for the time it was made. The H22a DOHC VTEC engine gives you the speed and nimbleness you will find in little to no other vehicles. And of course it has that Honda reliability we all know and love."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 196,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "VERY fun drive, easy to maintain, reliable, mileage"
Cons: "91 octane gas"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This car is great. It is solid in handling and looks. Its a Honda so it runs forever with very little repair. It is comfortable to drive, feels sporty and looks good. I dont think there are very many new cars that even have as good of lines as this one. It has power like a V6 but with better gas mileage. I get 27 hwy no problem. the only con I can think of is it really requires the 91 octane gas, and you can tell a difference in performance if you go below plus. You dont save any money that way because it is built to be efficient w/ that octane. There is comfortable room in the back seat. The trunk is HUGE. It is easy to maintain.I am probably about to sell and pass it on to someone else just to upgrade a little......but I love my car so much I have been finding it hard to find something else I love as much. If they still made preludes I would just trade up to a newer model. It is my favorite car I have ever owned. Even at 190k plus miles I have driven it to from CA to TX twice and frequent trips to Norther California from LA area with NO problems whatsoever. Great Great car. I hope whoever I sell it to (likely some kid who will pimp it out and race it..LOL) Loves it as much as I have."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 128,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Sporty and fun, it's not your everyday Civic."
Cons: "Mediocre MPG's, 91 fuel only, expensive repairs."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This is my 6th year spent with my BB6. In the 6 years I've owned it, we've went through 1 accident, a couple close calls, rebuilt head, and a 5 speed swap (from auto). I've done all the regular maintenance and it has never left me stranded once. This car was the best Honda money could buy, and it's classy and timeless appearance will continue on through time unlike many of the other offerings of it's time (i.e. Civics, Integras, etc). Yes, it's heavy and FWD, but the sound of a properly maintained H22 is nothing like anything else you can hear. If you want tons of aftermarket support and a car everyone and their mother drives, go buy an Si. If you want something you don't always see often, and when you do you almost have to ask, "that's a Honda?" then buy a Prelude. However, on the not so bright side... It's expensive to repair, parts are hard to find and expensive, it burns A LOT of oil, and it's not so great on gas (I average 25 city/hwy) and it requires PREMIUM fuel only (if you think you can get buy on 87, do a search on engine denotation (you'll thank me later))."
