Pros: "8 Seats, safety, reliability, turning radius"

Cons: "Small rear seats, small storage, gas mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"This is my second Pilot. The first (a 2005) was flipped, landed on the front passenger side corner, rolled back to its feet, and was of course totaled in a t-bone accident. I was virtually unhurt, to everyone's amazement. So I bought the 2006 with side air-bags. I bought the Pilot based on my metrics of safety, 8 seats, reliability, and 4wd capabilities. I am most satisfied. My husband wants a vehicle with more storage space; I just want an exact replica of what I have just larger with better gas mileage : ) At just over 200,000, the maintenance has been incredible, the driving uneventful... just what I wanted! Great job, Honda!"

Pros: "reliable, holds a ton of stuff, low maint"

Cons: "boring appearance"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Love this SUV, sold on Honda reliability. My wife and I bought it new, took it on multiple 2-3k road trips and zero problems. This car is great in the snow, can fit an 8foot christmas tree with ease, and best of all it doesn't break allowing us to put our money in investments and home improvements like our kitchen remodel. We we're so impressed we bought an 2011 Acura MDX new and it's 80k mileage is just the start. Zero problems with transmission or the engine. I've had two Z28's and an Audi S4 in my early years and all of those vehicles were expensive to repair and unreliable."

Pros: "large cargo area, outstanding highway car, 22 mpg"

Cons: "16 mpg in town, too large for our move to Seattle"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"We are the original owner. It has had Mobil One oil changes at 5K intervals. It has had balances and rotation on 5K intervals. The tires are super premium Michelins with about 5K on them. The timing belt has been changed and it has had the air bag recall service. It has had the 90K service. It is a great vehicle for gardeners due to the huge capacity in the cargo area for carrying multiple 3 cubic foot bags of bark mulch. The car has the Honda pilot cargo bed liner. It has been treated with care since it has left the factory and it has never been smoked in. The only reason that it is for sale is that we are moving to Seattle and it is simply too large for the minimal parking available in the Emerald City. We have the complete service history of this well cared for Pilot."

Pros: "the handling, the luxurious interior, the response"

Cons: "The grandpa looks of it."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"i was leery at even looking at one because of the exterior. To me in my 30,s it looks like some thing that my grandpa would drive. once i test drove one my mind could not grasp it was the same car that i thought my gramps would drive, the interior was more luxurious than all six of my jaguars. the throttle response made me think i was a souped up import. Till this day i cant wrap my mind how amazing this "ugly" suv is. if you can live with the look of it it will simply amaze you every day. I love it (not the look of it tho). highly recommend it!"

Pros: "Reliablility, longevity, made by Honda"

Cons: "I now have unrealistic expectations for cars"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I purchased this car new and have just passed 250,000 miles. In the 13 years I've owned, the only unexpected repair was when a squirrel chewed through some wiring. Otherwise, this vehicle has been absolutely problem free. I can't recommend this car high enough. Honda has earned their reputation building cars like this one."

Pros: "Safe, Roomy, Seats fold flat, comfort"

Cons: "Gas ok in the city, factory stereo, dash board"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"My 2006 Honda Pilot was just totaled in an accident when an uninsured motorist ran a red light. I am certain my Honda saved my life. Airbags deployed and seat belt worked perfectly. The hood was jammed up into and shattered the windshield. The brakes were in perfect working order and I was almost able to stop before the collision. I was amazed it could still function well enough to manipulate out of traffic with the front frame compromised and grill completely bashed in, with fluids leaking everywhere. I think all of my future cars will be Honda Pilots. I am super picky about driver's seat comfort and head room - this SUV has all you could want for storage space and comfort. My job requires me to haul a lot of gear around and the flexible cargo space makes rearranging and tetris-ing to barely fit all of my equipment a thing of the past. The factory stereo system is a bit of a buzz kill, but everything that is important is done quite well in the Pilot. Visibility is great for the size - I don't notice blind spots the way I do in other KIA and Toyota models. I would highly recommend this SUV for anyone who needs space for family, pets, or gear. It's super flexible and SAFE!"
