"Our family car for almost 8 years! Over 115,000 miles, and not a single problem! The DVD player for the rear seat entertainment system quit working a few years ago and the Honda dealer wanted a ridiculous sum of money to replace it, so I just use my laptop to watch movies on long trips, when I'm not driving that is. Aside from routine maintenance, the engine and transmission have not given us a single problem, and the van has not had any mechanical problems. My family has owned a lot of vehicles over the years, and the air-conditioner in our Odyssey is among the coldest I've ever experienced. It blows FREEZING COLD air, and in almost 8 years both the front and rear A/C have not had a problem! The front and rear heaters also work great! The seats are very comfortable, the stereo system sounds great (though the CD player mysteriously quite working a couple years ago, then started working again, and has been working fine since), and the Odyssey was able to tow our small motorboat with ease. The Odyssey can seat 6 people in very comfortable, and if you cram a 7th into middle of the 3rd row seat it becomes very cramped but still tolerable. The van has the upgraded AM/FM cassette/CD combo, and the cassette player is great for plugging in an iPod since 2004 was before most vehicles had iPod hookups. After almost 8 years and more than 115,000 miles, our Odyssey does not have a single problem with anything.
Even though I think the 1999-2004 second generation Odyssey is the best looking of all generations, and I do not really like the style of the latest 2011-2012 Odyssey, I would still recommend any Odyssey from 1995-2012 to someone looking to buy a minivan!"
