Pros: "The engine."

Cons: "Everything else."

"Please don't buy a Honda Odyssey! This minivan can not handle life and wasn't made for real world use! Honda makes great engines but very lousy vehicles! Everything from the electronic doors to the windshield wipers to the window lifters to the body panels to the suspension has given me trouble in this car! My Odyssey has all the problems you might expect to have in a Ford, Dodge or Chevy but they each cost 2-3 times more to fix! And on top of this, the "scheduled maintenance" requirements (including timing belt replacement etc.) cost a boatload as well! This Odyssey's suspension is not calibrated to transport the 7 passengers it has seats for! Even with small children in the seats, and a couple of bags of luggage, the back end squats in such a way that wears the tires out funky and compels frequent alignments. I'm not sure if the brake rotors are undersized or what, but I've never owned a vehicle that used more pads and rotors in my life. As one reviewer noted "changing the pads/rotors is easy"....well thank goodness, because you have to do it a lot! My engine works fine. Again, Honda makes great engines. I'll keep buying their lawn mowers, motorcycles and generators, but not their cars! My drive shaft has something going on though which makes everything shake violently at about 30mph, so I'm sure I'm on the cusp of some kind of tranny issue. My electronic "automatic" doors are the biggest hassle ever! I've replaced hinges on one door, twice already, the cable snapped on the passenger side making it a "manual" door" and now the "door ajar" buzzer lets out a squeak everytime I hit a bump. The Honda mechanics can't figure out why, so I have to turn off my automatic doors when I drive so the buzzing stops! I could go on, but suffice it to say, this thing has broken, is broken or is about to break in every way possible. Total piece of garbage. If you buy one, get used to paying a lot of maintenance fees or spending a lot of time watching youtube videos learning how to fix stuff yourself!"

Very disappointing. Needed 2 transmissions.

Pros: "loved the car except for transmission problem"

Cons: "felt cheated because still in good shape"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"When I found out the car needed another transmission after I had just replaced it a few years prior, I had no option but to junk it. It was not driveable and it would cost too much to fix again. I bought a Honda because of reliability and then come to find my transmission problem was not an isolated one."

Pros: "Super Handling, Satisfying Fuel Economy & SPACE"

Cons: "TWO Cigarette lighters up front, Sunroof, 4x4"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I've had the original Odyssey which had lots of space and great fuel economy back then, never thought the redesign would get even better. Generally get 600 miles per fill when going between cities and usually lasts the whole week in town. Had the air conditioning compressor changed at 134,000 miles, I've done the brakes myself, very easy. Pads snap right in. Done. Changed the right head lamp once. Very Cool and impressive design. Driver side sliding door needs a little nudge to close properly. With phone charger and GPS could use two cigarette lighters. There are handles and hooks everywhere to hold onto or to hang clothes for events. Love the space for the family and friends or whatever cargo I'm hauling. Installed the hitch package, fits like a glove and have hauled over 3500 lbs but less than 5500 lbs no problems. No blind spots to speak of. Fit a 17 ft sailboard inside AND up on the roof racks. Can't wait for the 4x4 and Sunroof. This car is a treat, Highly Recommended, Yes Indeed !!"

Pros: "Very handy - can use to haul people and stuff."

Cons: "Not the most stylish - but who cares?"

"It has been a great car. I have had no major problems - just regular maintenance and repair. I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it. It has been used hard. I have used it for 8 moves and hauling materials for the construction of a huge deck."

Pros: "Super reliable. I feel comfortable & safe in it."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Super reliable. Easy to maintain. And, could be it's best feature, no blind spots. I have another Honda, a 2015 CR-V and that car is awful with blind spots. This Odyssey is a dream to drive. Smooth and sure handling, too. Also, the milage it gets is around 20 MPG. Not bad for a big 2002 vehicle. Very comfortable on long trips as well as short ones…..took me safely from Michigan to California and back. The GPS is easy to use and works perfectly. I have driven all but 8 of the 130,624 miles on it and have no complaints with this car. I love it !"
