2001 Honda CR-V

Great AWD car, super reliable!

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 216,000

Pros: "Workhorse, reliable, well made, convenient"

Cons: "Underpowered"

Anza-Borrego Honda CR-V 1998

"I bought this car used telling myself, "Why not?" I was on the market for a Subaru but all of the used ones that I found had oil and fluid leaks that were quite expensive to repair. Then I found my 1998 CR-V AWD with 5 speed transmission. What a surprise! I am a mechanic and I learn to appreciate the avaibility of cheap aftermarket parts and how easy it is to work on this car. I went off-roading and the car can handle it, no problem. The engine could use a little boost but 26mpg on the highway helps forgetting about it."

most faithful vehicle I have owned

Pros: "Thousands of trouble-free miles"

Cons: "Motor struggles up hills w/ AC, road noise"

"Bought this car w/ 80k miles, and have driven it daily to 226k. Have replaced only age-related things such as battery, muffler, etc. Needs to have valves adjusted periodically to maintain power on hills, but otherwise have had no trouble whatsoever. Breaks my heart that a kamikaze deer may have done her in, b/c with so many miles the insurance company will never give what it's worth to me."

Awesome car

Pros: "Very reliable"

Cons: "not much room in back seat for grown passengers"

"We bought this vehicle new when before the birth of our second son. It will go anywhere. It goes great in snow. It is very reliable. I would not hesitate to travel across the country in it even with the number of miles it has. I will probably keep it forever. Routine maintenance is all I have ever had done to it. It is a little crowded now that my sons are bigger, but still doable."

Excellent

Pros: "Fun to drive, excellent space"

Cons: "placement of tools to change spare"

"I LOVE this car. I have owned it since the summer of 2005, and if I had my choice would keep it for the rest of my life. I was the second owner. I have two kids and the space in the backseat has been great. I have had routine work on the car, and feared I was going to have to have valve work on it about 6 months ago. Just had to replace a coil. I would buy another Honda, most likely a CRV when it has to be replaced."
