About Honda Civic

Honda continues to make into reality what other manufacturers only talk about. Take, for example, the Civic Hybrid. It's a car that employs a small gasoline engine assisted by an electric motor that can, under certain low-speed situations, become the car's sole powerplant. Urban commuters will find the Civic Hybrid superior to its gasoline counterpart because it allows for equally frugal city and highway fuel economy, while producing minimal-to-no greenhouse emissions. Unlike the Toyota Prius, which assumes a functional but futuristic appearance, the Civic Hybrid closely mirrors the newly restyled Civic Sedan, with only few minor exterior and interior changes to differentiate the two cars.

Pros: "MPG, iMid, fun/comfortable to drive, cheap to own"

Cons: "Not most advanced of competitors, syling"

"I have owned this car since July 2011 and have put ~10,000 miles on it. We use it as our commuter car and do about 50/50 city and highway driving and have averaged ~40mpg over the life of the car (have had one "trip" going since we drove it off the lot). I admit it is not the best looking (inside and out), or most technologically advanced of all of the competitors. Sure, there is no direct injection or six speed transmissions but Honda stuck with what works and what delivers. The car drives very smooth, is very comfortable, is super responsive for an automatic, the iMid display, iPod hookup, and steering wheel controls are very user friendly. To top it all off it does not need a major service for 100,000 miles. Feels and drives exactly the same today as when we bought it."

Pros: "Gas milage, Styling"

Cons: "Price!"

"Traded in a '10 Civic one because I liked the new styling and 2 for a better finance rate. Otherwise I'd have kept the '10! Very easy to drive, stable both in city and highway driving. Have gotten as high as 44MPG average 38 or 39 mpg most of the time though you need to learn to be easy on the gas peddle to do it. My only dissapointment is the price jump from the '10 I traded in $6000! Dealer had a large markup could be part of the price increase. Other than price I love the car!"

Pros: "Fun to drive, quality, roomy, comfortable"

Cons: "None so far"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This car is unbelievable. I purchased the fully loaded model of this car about 3 weeks ago and it has everything you need and more. Although some say it's cheaply made, it is not. It's a very solid car compaired to it's competitors and far surpasses the elantra which everyone is bragging about despite of it's reputation for having major problems. The civic's transmission is very great, and if you want to save fuel just switch to Econ mode which is a great feature that allows you to save due By cutting performance, it's very handy and you can feel it working. This car is worth the price and It's very fun to drive."
