Civic Hybrid. Good car ruined by Honda

I owned and sold this car
Reason: drop in MPGS - My approximate mileage is 92,000

Pros: "Reliable and economical"

Cons: "Battery recharge causes power loss during first mi"

"I was pleased with this Hybrid averaging an honest 48MPG highway by hypermiling on my commute. The problems included excessive tire wear (on a hybrid?) and the drivers window jumping track which was covered in a recall warranty. With the CVT transmission, you cannot use the cruise on any hills economically. Then Honda did a forced update to the program to save their hybrid battery life (their warranty) this caused the hybrid battery to discharge in the first mile and then to recharge for the next 5 or so. This caused the mileage to drop from 48 to 42 or 43, and you had little power during the first miles of driving due to the battery recharging. It was reliable for the 90000 miles, but not the bargain it was when I bought it."

Shouldn't have bought brand new

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 40,000

Pros: "Great gas mileage, fun to drive, drives smoothly"

Cons: "interior cheap looking, all the rattling noise"

"I love this car, but I did buy it brand new and that was the worst idea ever. I have warranty but that doesn't work for all the rattling in the back and the buzzing in the roof. The interior is a cheaply made in my opinion it scratches way too easy and the dash board is almost impossible to clean. After all this said I do love how cheap it is to fill the car up compared to other vehicles I have owned. I love the digital screen. I love the way the car drives. It is a safe car. Impossible to break in. Left my keys in the car and was two hrs away from spare key. The police man at the campus said they have never had such a hard time getting in the car to get my keys."

"I own a 06 Honda Civic Ex 5 speed. I have seen some of the reviews that people have posted. Frankly, I agree to the quality and dynamics of this vehicle.Ive owned this car for the past 3 yrs and have put over 100,000 miles on this car. It has great gas mileage, its roomy, and it has comfortable seats.It accelerates well and rides great.If you ever need to buy parts for this vehicle they are affordable.Ive looked up some parts that i may need to change in the future and they are great in pricing. Ive only had to change the oil, brake pads, spark plugs, tires, and rotors. The reason being is that i travel alot in this car. Overall, I recommend this car if you are trying to buy a vehicle that gives you more for your money. That is what is important"

Great Car!!

Cons: "Not Fast, No Bells and Whistles"

"Leased my '09 Civic beginning in October 2008. Purchased the vehicle once the lease ended. Had one very minor mechanical issue, the battery died after two years. Honda replaced it for free. No other cosmetic or mechanical issues. Consistently get 29-32 mpg. Well made vehicle which I highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and low cost vehicle."

2011 civic si coupe

Pros: "sporty"

Cons: "3rd gear"

"I wanted one of these when they first came out. I had to buy an SUV first so i got the last model year.I really love the handeling and the power this car makes.The back seats are surprizingly roomy and my three small chidren fit comfortably in the back. They actualy like the civic better than the SUV.The big dissapointment came when i started having the infamous 3rd gear issue. Some days it grinds and some days it pops out of gear. I took the car to honda and they said they could not see anything wrong. The problem is that it is not a contstant issue happens randomly. Im verry frustrated by this. Im going to have to wait untill it grinds all the time before i take it back i guess. Bottom line is i wish i did more reserch."
