Pros: "Mileage, Price, Reliability, Safety, Drives Well"

Cons: "Too Little Power, Not comfortable, Boring"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I'm a college student, and I've had this car for 3 years. it now has 195,000 miles on it. It's been incredibly reliable, economical, and safe. In all a very logical car to own, and the perfect car for a new driver or college student. It drives well, but it's a little lacking in power and comfort. When driving on the freeway over a mountain pass, such as that between Pendleton and La Grande, Oregon, I have a tough time maintaining the speed limit, and I have to labor the engine pretty hard to keep passing the big rigs. Also, on long road trips, I find the seats to be very hard, and I prefer to take other vehicles when I can for that reason. I've driven this car in Utah for the 3 years I've owned it, and it handles the snow as well as any 2 wheel drive car I've driven, and I've never been close to getting stuck anywhere. It is very very reliable. It has 195000 miles on it, and I plan to take a 3000 mile road trip soon, and have no reservations about that. In the end, I'm rather bored with this car, and I've decided to replace it with a Jeep Cherokee. Logical? Not at all, but I want more out of a car than just the ability to move me about. I prefer the adventure of the Jeep, even at the cost of lessened fuel mileage and reliability."

Honda is way below some other makes in quality.

Pros: "Nice ride, interior, controls."

Cons: "Good luck keeping up with the repair costs!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"My 1994 Honda LX coupe is fun to drive and comfortable. It gets around 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. It has a rather quiet interior when at speed where it is possible to talk without raising ones voice. The interior has held up well with durable fabric. Controls are well thought out for the most part. This is a pleasant place to be on the road. Unfortunately, the good is far outweighed by the bad aspects. The paint, even though waxed frequently, has oxidized and looks like, well, Honda paint. Repairs have been much more frequent than on our Mazdas and Toyotas of similar age and mileage. Multiple spark plug tube seals, multiple alignments, brakes that wear out quickly and cost more to work on than most cars, exhaust system parts that are very pricey, window regulators that are several hundred dollars to fix, a head gasket repair that cost 1600 dollars, upper control arm and fuel system relays that were both hundreds to repair and it goes on and on. Just when I think nothing else can go wrong, it does, consistently. This car has cured me of Hondas. I can't wait to sell it. At my work I am known as a car nut and I have to truthfully tell my co-workers that Hondas just are not a brand you want to go with anymore. Just look at carcomplaints.com to see how many people have a great deal of headaches with their Hondas."

Pros: "Excellent value, keeps on going!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This car just keeps on going! It's awesome. And great mileage. Roomy enough in both front and back. Not too large overall, a problem with some newer model years. Not luxurious but very workable and comfortable. Great sized and easy to access trunk. Love all the window glass--Honda has streamlined new 2013 models and taken away too much of the glass. I like seeing all the way around! Only have one glitch that is a problem in coastal climate winters- so I think is a problem for just this car, not the whole model year. --windows fog up inside and it takes turning on the air conditioner to get them clear, the heater defroster takes too long. This model year should be used as a baseline. Easy to maintain inside. Looks a little worn outside but just hard to give up a real winner."

Pros: "Great, reliable, comfortable car. Good Gas milage"

Cons: "Clear coat peeled quickly. Easily stolen."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this car new on 4/30/97. I have over 300,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. Reliability is fantastic. Never died on me while driving. I've replaced 3 timing belts, probably 4 sets of brakes and at least 4 sets of tires. This was my third Honda and first Accord. Now, bad things: the clear coat started going early, probably the first 7 years. The inner door handle I've replaced twice because it's plastic with foil wrapped and starts peeling and gets sharp. I had to have the cooling system worked on and the third mechanic got it right. I recently had it painted the original color "dark purple" and three days after getting it back it was stolen. This was the second time it was stolen in two years. Yes, it appears this year and before are easily stolen. I still love this car and hope to get it back. I have my second Honda Accord but this is a great car. Anyone see a freshly painted purple 97 Honda Accord please take a second look it may be mine."
