Pros: "Run alternative fuel with no modifications to it."

Cons: "Big and slow."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Almost 400k miles and going strong. The 3/4 ton K-2500 Diesel Suburban with 6.5l turbo, you can't go wrong. It's big, hard to park, slow like a big turtle and lacking in the "get up and go" department but it will get you where you need to go every time and bring a lot of passengers and a ton of there stuff along for the ride. It's getting 22mpg freeway and 18 city. I've been using anything from clean vegetable oil, furnace oil, used engine oil, transmission fluid and diesel with zero modification to the engine. I have run more alternative fuel threw it than I have regular diesel fuel. Maybe that's why I'm near 400k miles on it. It's had a few breakdowns along the way but nothing major. This truck is really easy to work on because of the size and design. Parts are reasonably priced and I've never had trouble I couldn't fix in one day, no special tools, some online research and a trip to the parts store. Not to mention I'm no mechanic. If you have a chance to get a K2500 diesel with a 6.5l jump on it! It's been a great and reliable rig."

"I can always get "one more thing" in the Suburban! Has real presence in the snow-I take folks from my neighborhood to the store during snow and ice because they can't get there otherwise. Has been a great tow vehicle, RV trailer, boat, and car hauler. Still looks good and style is not too dated 20 years later. I would buy another if this one dies."

Pros: "Best over the road rig, a real truck. Safe."

Cons: "Mileage, but we have a diesel Jetta"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"These rigs are the ultimate family, vacation, ski-bum, soccer-mom, etc etc. rigs on the market. Don't forgwet Chevy was the first with such a vehicle (in the late 50's or so). Our present Suburban is a diesel, but we've had three gas jobs, sold the last one to our mechanic (it needed some work). He fixed it up and it still runs around locally. I expected more MPG from the diesel, but will install a chip to produce more power and MPG. It is not a duramax (Have a duramax in another truck), but just keeps on pluggin along. Ours has only 112,000- low miles for a 1996, southern car w. no rust, a real find. Want to keep it till the Lord returns!"

Pros: "Fun to drive. a true workhorse, 40 gal tank good"

Cons: "transmission reliability not as good as the engine"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"It had become a home away from home. It can carry anything or do anything you wanted. 40 gallon gas tank a true plus. You always need gas but not having to fill up as often is a great plus."
