2002 GMC Sierra beautifil!

"I bought this new in 2002, the yellow stepside. It has been a very reliable truck, and still going strong. Never fails to start, even in winter. Kept up on all maintenance, and any sign of rust has only been in the door bottoms and fixed promptly. Still shines like new after washing. This trucks only flaw, is that it does not "turn on a dime" so to say. This truck is still in excellent condition. It has been well taken care of."

Pros: "Styling, interior, power"

Cons: "everyone would love more MPG's"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have owned this vehicle for 2 yrs and just paid it off. Outside of the battery going bad it's been a reliable vehicle. About 15 or 16 MPG maintenance is not expensive and has a pretty powerful 5.3L engine that pulls my trailer with my Harley Davidson no problem. It's 2002, but people still come and tell like the styling of the truck and I have offers to sell. It's held it's value pretty good. Overall I am very happy with this GMC product, definitely head and shoulders above my previous truck which was a Ford Ranger."

Pros: "Easy to drive and comfortable."

Cons: "The paint is peeling off the flatbed box."

"My pickup has a flat bed rather than the usual box. It has a 5th wheel hookup as well. The color is grayish tan. I would keep it but no longer need a pu."

Pros: "Comfortable front, Reliable, Good looking"

Cons: "Uncomfortable back seat, has 3 doors vs. 4"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I purchased it used with about 6K miles on it. I've always maintained as recommended and always use synthetic oil for engine and anything else synthetic lubricant is available for, such as front & rear differential & transmission. I think that using synthetic oil is what kept it running this long without any major mechanical problems. I like it's smooth ride on & off road, I like the radio feature where the volume would increase with increased acceleration and lower as you slowed down. I added a lumber rack & tool box in the bed and it has worked well for me. Two things I don't like is the back seat is not comfortable for long trips, and it has the 3 doors & the fourth door would have been helpful many times. Just recently had to replace the passenger side remote side mirror and the passenger side remote door lock. Had a problem with a sensor saying something was wrong with the 4x4, but turned out to be a sensor problem. That's about it for this 14 year old truck. Things are starting to need repairs now so I'll be looking for a used 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 or 1500hd SLT with a 6 speed transmission and low mileage so I can be sure it'll be treated with synthetic oil early on."

Pros: "radio and comfortable"

Cons: "everything but the radio and comfort"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"Mass produced by people who don't care! Underbody and rocker panels are barely held together by rust. Guess how much fuel you have- range, gallons used fuel guage none work. Now I see why there is a company that deals in rebuilt instrument panels. Heated seats don't work (they don't work in my Cadillac either). Great radio so you don't hear the wheel bearings failing. Broken headlight mount. I'm sure every other owner feels my pain and can probably add to my list. Not one recall so I must be the only one cursed with this heap."
