"I purchased my 07 new as a close out,so I got a great deal on it. MSRP $28k, and with discounts, plus tag/title, and tax's paid $19+k.
First I wanted a truck, not a toy. 2wd was ok and preferred, since I'm not working on a farm or in off road conditions. So my truck came with 4:10 posi track rear, which was a requirement.
I haul mostly motorcycles and sometimes up to a 16ft utility trailer. So I wanted pulling power up to 10000 pounds.
My WT - work truck, has no carpet, nor leather.
I added the cruise control for $90 myself, simply changed out the control.
I've hauled up to 7000 pounds on a 800 mile trip (interstate) and got 16mpg with my Diablo tuner.
In and around town, I get 10/11 mpg.
I retain as close to stock tires as I can. Had to replace the OEM set, due to side walls cracking, after 5 years."
"I've owned my 2006 Sierra for about six years. I bought it in 2007 with just over 16000 miles on it. I can count the number of issues I've had with it on one hand, which were minor. I'm very particular about maintenance and only go to one dealership to have it serviced. I only use mobil 1 synthetic oil and I perform all the scheduled maintenance at the appropriate intervals. I have never had a mechanical failure. I am proud to own this truck!"
