"I love my truck very much. I do a lot of heavy hauling and it has done a great job. I have had no major breakdowns at all. I have replaced the break lines but that is minor and expected after 250k. I am buying a newer one because of the hard work I cant afford for a truck to break down when I am working."
"I've owned this truck since new and will buy another GMC truck next. Very reliable. I had to replace a couple alternators, a water pump and a fuel pump. Not bad for 200k miles and still going strong."
"With the current price of a new pickup, the mileage I'll get out of this truck. The price of jeep wrangler with the jeep transmission problems. All other vehicles new price consideration how long they last. I could not afford to sell it for less than $69,995.06 . The one I had before was a 1998 Chevy I had 298,476 miles on it when some guy made a left turn right into the front end. Totaling My pickup another small SUV plus his vehicle."
"Other than body dings, going over a creek embankment into an unseen solid metal item and a very angry bull... this truck has been indestructible. I get about 18.9 mpg on the highway, hauling big trailers drops it to 15-17mpg depending on stops and starts, but that city hauling sucks the diesel. The torque in this bad girl is her crowning jewel. I have owned this one since 2008, bought new and have NEVER managed to get her stuck, and I stuck the bronco, the tractors, the 1500 I had and the neighbor's tractor... this one is my favorite truck and I get offers from people wanting to buy her all the time."
"I purchased this truck new. I have always owned Fords but decided to try GMC. Glad I did! Better build quality. Better ride. Better handling. Better fuel mileage. I replaced the factory air filter with a K&N and now get 22mpg on the highway. I run Mobil Synthetic oil and it makes a difference.
183000 trouble free miles. Just general maintenance and brakes. Oil change every 5000 miles. Still runs great. I tow my tractor with bush hog and a cattle trailer with up to 10 cows at a time in it no problem."
Pros: "Runs great, reliable, smooth and comfortable ride."
Cons: "Rust issue over the rear wheel wells."

"I have owned this truck since 2002. Overall, very reliable thru the years and still runs great. My only beef is with the rust issue with GMC and Chevy trucks of this era. 99% of the trucks I see have the rust problem over the rear wheel wells and along the running boards under the doors."
