"Solid car. Reliable, comfortable with kids, dogs, babies, etc. Moved two kids cross country for college and jobs without incident. Towed boat back and forth to lake and storage without problem. Gas hog, however. Around 14 mph in town. About 18 - 20 on highway. Only selling it because of gas usage in town."
"I bought this Envoy in 2008 with 35,000 miles on it. Drove it from NJ to NM with a friend in 36 hours straight. The only problems have been with a failed fuel gauge (fixed under warranty) and a failed speedometer (fixed by a local mechanic).
The handling isn't great, but the vehicle has motored through some very heavy weather (unplowed roads, heavy mud) and never missed a beat. To me, the ability to switch to AWD and/or 4WD is valuable. In the middle of nowhere, with unpaved roads, SUVs aren't just a fashion statement.
The local mechanic said it's good for well over 200,000 miles. The only reason I would trade it would be for better mileage."
"Overall, this has been a great suv. Very reliable, minimal problems after 95,000 miles. Very comfortable, handled well in the snow. The few service issues I had were primarily due to poor GM service. I've never even had to replace the brakes, but I imagine it will need them before much longer. I'd buy a new one if they still made the Envoy. Glad I ignored all the doom and gloom I read about the Envoy in Consumer Reports."
"I totally love this car. I may never get a new car because I can't find anything I love as much as this car. Mine transforms into a truck with a slide open roof and tailgate that opens down like a truck or to the side. It is the perfect car/truck vehicle. My only disappointment is the mechanism for the middle window between the seats and back stopped working and is pretty expensive to get fixed. May be worth it though - it is really handy!"
"Purchased my 2002 Envoy in 2004. I've been only the 2nd owner. I just put it to the side last week when I upgraded to a Cadillac SRX. I still have the Envoy and I have 3 friends interested in purchasing it since they know it was a great vehicle for me. My '02 Envoy has some options which made it a pleasure to drive for over 10 years. 6 CD changer, power sunroof, running boards and shiny chrome style rims. It has needed some mechanical repairs over the years, but nothing of major concern. (my husband is a mechanic and has helped me to keep the Envoy in such great condition.) It has 109,000 miles on it and going strong. While I am getting used to all the technology on my new SRX, I still do miss driving my Envoy. After driving it for 10 yrs. and the fact it has been so good to me, I find it's hard to break my bond with it."
