Pros: "Rides great, drives great, comfortable on trips."

"My retired in-laws bought a new "05" SLE V6 model and drove it everywhere from their home in Arkansas, visiting us in Atlanta, checking on property in Houston, etc. About 2 years in they woke after a storm to find a tree had crushed the roof of the car. The insurance company totaled it and they promptly went out and bought a new "08" SLE V6 model. The body shop holding the "05" talked them into buying it back from the insurance company and he replaced the roof for them. In 2010 my father-in-law died and we moved my mother-in-law here to Atlanta. They owned 2 trailers that they had been pulling all over the country with the Envoys so we loaded one up and towed her stuff here with the "08". She sold us the "08" for about half the blue book value. We've replaced the E-vap valve twice, driver side window motor, and the water pump at 70K miles. We've replaced the emission system air pump and the tail light modules on the "05". About a week ago my mother-in-law gave us the trailer. I pulled it for the first time, 5 miles to my house with the "08" since my wife pulled it from Arkansas. I thought it was awful heavy to be empty. When I got home I cleaned it off and found the ID plate. The trailer that my in-laws had been pulling loaded with these 2 cars for a combined 5 years had a tare weight of 7000lbs, 1 ton more than GM recommends for these V6 vehicles. (Apparently they bought a cargo trailer built on a tandum axel horse trailer frame because it was on sale new for $2k...go figure.) It's been 5 years since our move, no more problems with either car so far. Keeping my fingers crossed but I've heard of others having to change out this water pump on what I consider low mileage. Didn't need to change the one in my Nissan pickup till 250K. other than that my wife and mother-in-law are very satisfied with both cars."

Pros: "Great comfort, mileage, reliable."

"I purchased my 2007 GMC Envoy SLT 2WD brand new from the dealer in September (2007) and have never once regretted it. It rides like a dream, the quality and craftsmanship inside and out is excellent. I opted for the leather seats and they still look brand new. People tell me I should trade up to a newer vehicle but I'm so in love with my black beauty I just can't fathom someone else driving it. Best purchase I've ever made, and I've owned various makes and models from the old Datsun 260Z and 280Z, Honda Accords, to the Mercedes convertible. Never any mechanical problems, I just maintain the service due on it and have only had to purchase one set of new tires. No dents, nicks or scratches, either. I keep it in a garage when not driving it."

"210,000 miles and going for 300,000. Sure I have had to fix a few things. but thats true of any car. rides great, pulls great, gets around in the snow, ice and mud great. I would recommend an Envoy to anyone. It will be sad day when it needs to be replaced. I may just park it out in the trees to keep forever"

"Love this SUV! It has gotten me to work in the worst winter weather. Awesome 4WD. A bit of a gas guzzler, but that's typical for an SUV on a truck body."

Pros: "Solid smooth ride"

Cons: "Gas miliege"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"This has been an excellent vehicle. The 4WD is so easy to use and has provided excellent road handling in very challenging situations. Use it to tow trailers/other vehicles, excellent! The ride is amazing, it has a luxury car ride, smooth and comfortable over poor road conditions. As others have pointed out the main drawback is the gas mileage, other than that a great vehicle."

"It's a shame they don't make it anymore. Fuel economy leaves a little to be desired, but it is a great and comfortable vehicle on a trip. Gets around very well in bad weather. The Bose sound system is very nice and the vehicle has been very dependable."
