"Overall, this has been a great suv. Very reliable, minimal problems after 95,000 miles. Very comfortable, handled well in the snow. The few service issues I had were primarily due to poor GM service. I've never even had to replace the brakes, but I imagine it will need them before much longer. I'd buy a new one if they still made the Envoy. Glad I ignored all the doom and gloom I read about the Envoy in Consumer Reports."
"I totally love this car. I may never get a new car because I can't find anything I love as much as this car. Mine transforms into a truck with a slide open roof and tailgate that opens down like a truck or to the side. It is the perfect car/truck vehicle. My only disappointment is the mechanism for the middle window between the seats and back stopped working and is pretty expensive to get fixed. May be worth it though - it is really handy!"
"Purchased my 2002 Envoy in 2004. I've been only the 2nd owner. I just put it to the side last week when I upgraded to a Cadillac SRX. I still have the Envoy and I have 3 friends interested in purchasing it since they know it was a great vehicle for me. My '02 Envoy has some options which made it a pleasure to drive for over 10 years. 6 CD changer, power sunroof, running boards and shiny chrome style rims. It has needed some mechanical repairs over the years, but nothing of major concern. (my husband is a mechanic and has helped me to keep the Envoy in such great condition.) It has 109,000 miles on it and going strong. While I am getting used to all the technology on my new SRX, I still do miss driving my Envoy. After driving it for 10 yrs. and the fact it has been so good to me, I find it's hard to break my bond with it."
Cons: "I can't think of anything negative to say ."

"This Envoy has the option of using 2 Wheel Drive, or 4 wheel Drive, or All Wheel Drive. They do not offer that any longer and that is why we kept this one. Comfort is also a big factor. The leather seats (both front seats are heated) look like new. We purchased it new"
"I absolutely LOVE this SUV. I bought it new in 2004 and will drive it until it dies on me. I love being higher than your average sedan, I can see so much more ahead of me. It is still in very
nice condition, paint and interior is still very nice. Only 1 small dent that someone hit my door and a few scratches. Eleven years old and still going strong."
Pros: "Rides great, drives great, comfortable on trips."
Cons: "Water pumps seem to go out early."

"My retired in-laws bought a new "05" SLE V6 model and drove it everywhere from their home in Arkansas, visiting us in Atlanta, checking on property in Houston, etc. About 2 years in they woke after a storm to find a tree had crushed the roof of the car. The insurance company totaled it and they promptly went out and bought a new "08" SLE V6 model. The body shop holding the "05" talked them into buying it back from the insurance company and he replaced the roof for them. In 2010 my father-in-law died and we moved my mother-in-law here to Atlanta. They owned 2 trailers that they had been pulling all over the country with the Envoys so we loaded one up and towed her stuff here with the "08". She sold us the "08" for about half the blue book value. We've replaced the E-vap valve twice, driver side window motor, and the water pump at 70K miles. We've replaced the emission system air pump and the tail light modules on the "05". About a week ago my mother-in-law gave us the trailer. I pulled it for the first time, 5 miles to my house with the "08" since my wife pulled it from Arkansas. I thought it was awful heavy to be empty. When I got home I cleaned it off and found the ID plate. The trailer that my in-laws had been pulling loaded with these 2 cars for a combined 5 years had a tare weight of 7000lbs, 1 ton more than GM recommends for these V6 vehicles. (Apparently they bought a cargo trailer built on a tandum axel horse trailer frame because it was on sale new for $2k...go figure.) It's been 5 years since our move, no more problems with either car so far. Keeping my fingers crossed but I've heard of others having to change out this water pump on what I consider low mileage. Didn't need to change the one in my Nissan pickup till 250K. other than that my wife and mother-in-law are very satisfied with both cars."
