"I bought my 2001 spruce green Windstar van in 2004; she had 34,000 miles and was in excellent condition. We have been partners for 10 years and 97,000 miles. I have enjoyed every single mile with her; she is a dream to drive and as comfortable as the couch in my family room! Most of the 97,000 miles I have driven by myself; she has NEVER let me down any time, any where! She has had the normal service and various repairs but nothing more serious than power window issues. I wish Ford still made the passenger mini-van so I could update with a newer one."

Pros: "A really good car to drive"
Cons: "The white paint chips off on the year 2000."

"I have enjoyed my Windstar and it has been very reliable I have not had any big problems with it. My only disappointment is that the year they made this model they had problem with the white paint. I had to do the hood, now the lift gate and the roof is peeling so I will need to have this painted. Really a good running car and good on gas especially on the highway a full tank will take me from PA to NC."

"I am disabled is the reason I bought the van, at one time we had a lift in it. The lift stopped working so I unhooked it unbolted it and took it out. Gas mileage is about 20 mpg highway 16 or 17 city. I have replaced brakes front and back, new torgue converter a year ago.new battery in 2014, altenater in 2010. It has normal dings and a couple of dents, nothing major. oh I forgot new heater door."

Pros: "Power, handling, space, dual sliding doors, extras"
Cons: "Electrical system /noisier than most at high speed"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7
"The value of the 2002 Ford Winstar LX is very high as it has been paid off for some time and enjoyed these past 12 years. The vehicle is coming to the end of its useful life of carrying my family around and now that its poor electrical system is giving out. We've enjoyed the overall reliability of the vehicle from Okinawa, to Kansas, to Germany and now Florida. The biggest issues have been with its electrical system or lack of quality electrical system. The windows have been repaired under warranty and a couple times since and no longer work. The lights inside go on and off by themselves when the doors are open. The electrical connectors to the rear defrosters fell off by themselves a long time ago. The vehicle lets in exterior noise in when on the highway. A noisier than usual ride but bearable. We've replace alot of the major components on the vehicle from 70K to 110K. With it getting older and Ford finding it harder to come by parts I can't foresee putting in many more repairs at the cost of it. I will probably keep it as long as I can to haul construction material or other cargo uses as it does have allot of space especially when the seats are removed. The trade in value is not worth the money they would give for it compared to having it around for the use of its large cargo capability."
