Pros: "Spacious interior/trunk, FWD Does great in snow"

Cons: "Gas (18 city, 23 hwy), Manual headlights, Parking"

"I purchased this car about 6 months ago for $9000 with 53k miles. So far it is great. It did better than expected in the snow (great traction, did not slide, went up hills/bridges with ease) this was important to me. Being somewhat tall (6' 2") I was looking for a vehicle that was spacious and had high ceilings. The Taurus gives me plenty of room between my head and the ceiling (8+ inches), the drivers seat is also higher off the ground than other cars I have driven. Both of these aspects are comparable to a small suv/crossover. The back seats are very spacious and are comparable to a Lincoln town car. There are only a few negative aspects to this vehicle. The headlights are not automatic (they stay on when the car is turned off) and you need to turn a switch every time you turn them on/off. My previous car had automatic lights so this took some getting used to but is not a big issue. Another negative is gas mileage. Other reviews have said they get up to 28 mpg, but I disagree. I drive about 60% of the time on the freeway and 40% city. Typically I get about 18-21 mpg on average, and never more than 23 or 24 mpg when I am driving solely freeway. Lastly, the Taurus is a full size sedan with a somewhat wide turn radius. A lot of the time while parking in a spot I need to back up and straighten up. Parallel parking is also much tougher if you are used to a smaller car. Overall great purchase and would definitely recommend to buy."

Pros: "price, ride, roomy interior, and 100% reliable,"

Cons: "wish it had heated seats but no big deal"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"A great car, perfect 10 in every way and I had no idea it would be as comfortable, reliable, and good in the snow as it is. Bought it off lease in '09 with 16,000 miles on it and now have nearly 100,000 mid '15 and NEVER had an issue. It had two tires replaced around 80k and it's about time for the other two so that goes to show if you're good to this car it is awfully easy to get along with. More stylish than it's given credit for and anew awesome interior and ride quality. Average of 22 mpg, but the ride is superior to a Honda or Toyota without a doubt and I bought this the same day I tested an Audi A6 and have 0 regret and plans to buy a newer one when the time comes but it's paid for (a lot easier to do than, say, that Audi) and why jump the gun if I'm still 100% satisfied!"

Pros: "Very comfortable"

Cons: "Can't think of any cons."

"We were looking at the Ford Fusion when the sales person suggested we look at a Taurus that he had. Remembering the quality of earlier model of the Taurus I was rather reluctant, after a test drive I was impressed, I purchased it 4 yrs old with 62K miles on it, 3 yrs later and 34K miles later I have replaced the original equipment battery, the only expense I have had other than regular maintenance. 17-18 mpg city and 25-26 mpg highway consistently and as high as 29 mpg highway on flatland So Cal or Nevada highways with no head winds. With a 20.4 gal tank you have a 400+ mile range on trips so you can choose where to stop for fuel. Interior and exterior fit and finish is very good, trunk is large and with the rear seats down I have loaded 10' lengths of pvc pipe and 10' lengths of baseboard and I could still close the trunk lid."

"We have owned our Taurus Limited for 7 years. During that time we have driven it for more than 120000 miles, without any major repairs. It has an exceptional ride, good gas mileage (24 city, 28 highway) and is a pleasure to drive. We have taken it on many extended trips and find that we are able to emerge from the car after driving 10-12 hours and feel great, ready to continue our day."

"Exceptinal ride, truly a super car for handling in bad weather. Gas mileage remains at a on even 30MPG. No major repairs. Leather seats, easy to maintain, huge trunk space with drop down capabilities, easy access to trunk. Comfortably seats 5 with excellent leg room for the tallest folks. Very responsive in handling,,with the feeling of a sports car. Very nice design body wise. You get the bang for your buck with this one, and retains it's value."
