Pros: "Safe, Good MPG for a V6, Comfortable"

"I own a 1999 Ford Taurus SE Comfort Wagon and yesterday I was in a high speed accident. 50 mph into a culvert the car held up brilliantly with almost all the damage to the driver side front ripping a wheel off in the process. that accident I have been told I shouldn't have walked away from. I did I was out of the care in less than a minute with minor bumps and bruises. I loved this car it had its issues (kept blowing head and tail lights) but it was overall a great car I will stand by these cars and recommend them for parents who are getting their child their first car or to someone who is looking for a safe reliable car."

Faithful Taurus

"We bought this car new in 1997. It has been through an elderly lady toodling about town for 8 years, then a young driver going to high school and college. It has always been reliable. The only major issue has been the electrical system, which included fuses for dash lights."

Pros: "gas, easy to fix,"

Cons: "replacing the same parts, no cd or tape player"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"I brought my car used in 2012 at about 139xxx miles. When I brought the car the seller stated that the transmission had recently been replaced but there was no paper work. So far no issues with the transmission, but I have replaced the engine mounts twice and they need to be replaced again (they should have been replaced more than twice) as you can see the whole engine shifting into gear. The oxygen sensor has to be replace every year, the right tire axle keeps needing to be replace, not to mention I had to replace the tire rods a few months after I first got the car. Even though these are minor repairs, I am not sure why I have to keep repairing the same parts. The engine mounts were replaced by 2 different shops. I recently brought a Lincoln navigator (which is in the same family) so hopefully I wont have these same issues. But the car has been reliable other than the issues listed and easy to repair as I replaced the alternator my self with the help of YouTube about 2 years back. I am selling the car now as I will not keep repairing the same issues"
