From Ford's perspective the 2010 Ford Taurus is more than a full-size sedan; it's also a flagship for the brand as a whole. As Ford's standard bearer, the Taurus has become a technology and design showcase, showing off the capabilities of the Blue Oval.

Ford's AdvanceTrac electronic stability control is made standard, as are a few previously optional features. A new entry-level trim, the SE, is added to the lineup.

About Ford Taurus

Not many domestics can go toe-to-toe with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, but over the last two decades Ford's Taurus has consistently been a big sales generator hot on the heels of its overseas competition. The Taurus name took a brief hiatus in 2007, but was quickly returned to the lineup last year. For 2009, the Taurus continues to offer consumers a roomy and safe full-size sedan, set to do battle with the likes of Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Dodge Charger. With its fresh look and low entry-level price tag, the Taurus is better than it's ever been and worth a look for those seeking a sedan that can comfortably hold a family of five.

Pros: "Good fit and finish with smooth firm ride"

Cons: "The firm controlled ride can get a little harsh."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Have owned Fords for the last 50 years my first was a red 1961 390 cu in Starliner and now I have a candy red 2011 3.5L Taurus SEL. Two different cars designed to move you from place to place in style with gusto. But to say the least the Taurus does it with a lot more refinement. It has fast response when you need to go fast and stops just as well. The interior is first rate in cloth or leather and the options match a lot of cars with a lot higher price and in some cases these cars don't have some of them at all. I get 20 mpg around town with 13000 on the odometer and everything is still tight and running smooth. I do recommend either the back up sensor or the camera as you can't see much when backing up. The premium sound system by Sony is also a good option to get if you like your music. The ride is firm but not harsh except on rough roads so if you need a marsh mellow ride this isn't your car. It gets attention about any where you go is quick, quiet and responsive to steering input so that you can avoid pot holes. It's a great car for not to much cash even with a pretty long list of options installed. I'd buy another one if I needed another car."

Pros: "alll of it!"

Cons: "Sync"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is a great car....if you want a large car. Its comfortable, quiet, smooth, and was a perfect choice for going from an SUV (Lexus) to a car. I purchased the AWD but can't really comment on that because we had no snow here on Long Island this year (Yeah!) The trunk is huge and the fit and finishes on the inside leather are beautiful. The car has a great safety rating which is comforting since I have a six year old in the back seat. Love the backup sensors. I have 13000 miles on it and have had it for 10 months. It handles beautifully and I don't miss the SUV "lean" at all when I turn. Nothing has gone wrong with the car mechanically. I only have two issues...I wish the glove compartment had a light...and... the sync system is not working properly. It is great when it does work (sporatic) and I love the bluetooth and GPS features. They told me Microsoft is working on a fix for all cars and will give me a download sometime in March. All in all, its a great car with beautiful eye catching style for a great price. Seats 5 very comfortable with plenty of room for luggage. Bonus...back seats fold down too. getting 20.5 mpg on average with mixed but mostly local driving."

Pros: "comfy (i'm 5'3""

Cons: "noisy sunroof"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I had the old 500 style Tarus and was at 1st not happy with the co-pit like vs. roomy sedan style, but I was wrong...love this car - I drive a lot of miles for work, so this is actually my 3rd Tarus, I will get another. my only complaint has to do with the SYNC so it's not a Ford issue, if I had to say something, the sunroof is a little noisy when open but I need to be on the commercials cause I just love my Tarus!!"
