Cons: "Could use better fuel mileage but it's the 4.0L V6"

"Have the 4.0L V6 with 5 speed automatic - it gets respectable fuel mileage at 21 MPG. Other than a new radiator (for around $80.00) due to a seam leak, the truck has been very reliable and easy to drive. I perform all my own repairs and replacement parts are inexpensive. For example, the front disc brake pads are around $10.00 per axle set if you shop on-line."
"I used this pickup many years for commuting to work and then go shopping at Home Depot and Lowe's, even trips to the dump.
It is the best vehicle purchase that I have made for many years. The reliability has been excellent and no maintenance problems. The truck size might be small for larger/taller people but is it just the right size for me."
"Bought this Ranger new and have never had a problem. Does everything I wanted it for. Easy to drive and park. Has good power and gets good gas mileage. Would buy another if Ford hadn't stopped making them. GREAT truck!"
"I have had this truck since 2004 from a Lease turn in. I have had no major problems with this and wish all could have been this reliable. Tempted to hang onto it. The only so-called major item needed replaced was the 4X4 computer module to engage the transfer case. Other than that just the usual maintenance upkeep."
"I've noticed that Rangers are few and far between insofar as used ones are in the City and County of Honolulu. Why? Because everyone keeps them! Mine has been very good to excellent overall. A little stiff riding, but comfortable especially in traffic. I get between 24-28 mpg; I have the five-speed automatic and I run the a/c about 90% of the time. The only thing that failed was the electric fuel pump at around 40K; that was replaced under warranty - no questions asked. A hard working, fun to drive little truck. Neighbor islands in Hawaii may have a few used ones, but for the most part, they're hard to come by. If you can find a used Ranger - get it. They're very reliable, easy to own, rugged, economical little trucks (the four cylinder ones, anyway)."
Pros: "Fun to drive, easy to drive and park, minimum care"
Cons: "Can't think of a thing being it is a small truck."

"When we purchased the "red truck", my husband was living and seemed to end up driving the family type vehicle. I loved the truck and was more than happy to call it my truck. It held me plus 3 grand kids a few times. We used the pull-down seats in the small cab and did just fine. My grandson has grown a bit and doubt I could "stuff" him with a sister in the back anymore. The Ranger has been my "love and joy" vehicle from the beginning. It will always be a fond memory of mine."
