"In 135000 miles this truck has been very reliable. I replaced the radiator, rear-end bearings and seals and recently had about $1100.00 worth of work done (including an a/c receiver/dryer). It has had 2 sets of brakes and 3 sets of tires. Basically, it is still the best truck I've owned. (It's the 4th, the others being all Chevies). I would buy another if I needed a truck but now I'm leaning more to an 08 Escape.
"I bought my Ranger in 96 with 25k on it. It now has 98k and it still drives like new. I did have two problems though. At about 50k the A/C compressor went out and cost about $600 to replace. Around 75k the truck started losing power and pinging under heavy load. After a $500 regular service and a $250 EGR valve it was determined to be a bad mass airflow sensor ($500) and the truck runs like a champ now. Other than those two problems this truck has been awesome. It has never left me stranded and has made it though some incredibly snowy conditions."
