I own this car - My approximate mileage is 250,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Low maintenance"
Cons: "Not the smoothest riding but it's a truck"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Bought this truck off the lot with 8 miles on it. Probably put in (other than normal stuff.....tires/batteries/brakes) $4,000 over the 16 years I've owned it and 800 of that was my own dumb fault. For a "utility" vehicle it's done all the hauling and transportation I've ever needed over the years. Don't know what I'm going to do after this one stops running (and the way it's going it won't be anytime soon) since they stopped making them."

"This ranger is only 1991, was an R title. It hauls logs, hauled all remodeling supplies for 5 yrs. Maintenance has been minimal as far as out of the ordinary upkeep goes."

"'93 Ranger XLT w/ 2.3L 4cyl. Nothing fancy here. Bought this truck fresh out of college used. In the last 20 years this truck has simply run just about free of any problems. I still drive it daily (when I'm not hauling my family of course). Pros: Reliable! Decent gas mileage Looks (personal option I know) Value - cheap! Cons: Underpowered (you're not going to win any races) Interior space. I'm 6'1", any taller and it would not be comfortable at all."

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Upgraded to full size truck for family. - My approximate mileage is 160,000
Pros: "Very affordable. Easy to drive. smooth."
Cons: "Cheap interior. Worst value holding truck."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I owned a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab for about a year. I would have owned it longer, but I just needed a bigger truck for the family. This is the perfect truck if you are looking for an affordable commuter or work truck. I think used Rangers are one of the cheapest trucks you can find. Very great value. This was my first truck and made me fall in love with trucks. Had a 4Cyl 5Spd. Had no towing power, but it hauled the things I needed for work such as inventory and materials. Great on gas as well. If you are buying an older model, BE SURE to check for leaks. These trucks are fairly reliable but leaking through the rear main seal is very common on this. I scored the comfort and quality rating low because well, its an affordable cheap grade small size truck. It will do what you need it to do. If you need to tow, then get the 6Cyl 4.0. Don't expect a fancy interior."
