All 2011 Rangers are equipped with front seat-mounted side airbags, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC) and a standard Class III trailer hitch.
The Ford Ranger finds itself surrounded by a number of newer and larger competitors, making it necessary for Ford to keep its compact truck competitive by offering numerous upgrades, fresh styling and rock-bottom pricing. In terms of size, only the Chevrolet Colorado (and its sibling twins, the Isuzu i-Series and GMC Canyon) and the Toyota Tacoma offer a Regular Cab configuration, an appealing feature for those looking for a bare-bones truck. The Ranger Super Cab models feature two small rear doors, but there is no Crew Cab model to challenge similar vehicles from Dodge, Nissan and Toyota. With no V8 option under the hood, the Ranger also falls behind the class leaders in horsepower and towing.

"Face it with a Ranger. Your not owning this truck to look stylish or cool. You own this truck to get around, haul some loads, and wash it once a year. This is my second and I still have the first one (1997 -145k). These babies just run. Parts are easy to find on the net if you like to tinker. I've had my 2006 for 3 years - never seen a mechanic. The gas mileage is my only complaint. But, 18 MPG is still ok compared to bigger trucks. The ride is pure truck. If they still made them, I'd buy another in 2020 when the first one finally wears out. Want to pay out the nose for style, then get a Toyota."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 75,000

"It tows, it hauls, it loads, it drives. And it get better mileage than the bigger trucks. It has the typical issues as any real truck, such as non luxurious and not racy, but it's a truck. It shouldn't be. I get it dirty and it likes it. If you don't have an ego and can deal with owning a small truck, this works great. I tow snowmobiles, boats, mowers with ease. I carry bikes, camping gear, soil, snow, like it's nothing. I probably couldn't lug around a 40 foot yacht, but I don't need to. And I don't need to pretend I'm going to. It's a powerful TRUCK that does just about any real job. No ego."

"For the 15K I paid for it new, it's worth every penny and more. Excellent utility truck for the family at a great price. Has the two jump seats so my whole family can take short trips together!"
