Pros: "Great on gas, low sitting"

Cons: "Impossible to work on, engine assembled by morons"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"I got this car used in July of 2013, and it had a boatload of issues with it. Since July, I've had it break down on me at least 3 times. Trying to change the alternator is nearly impossible, because the A/C is in the way above it and the drive shaft is in the way below it. The engine looks like my 2 year old nephew put it together and it's almost impossible to find any rhyme or reason to how it was assembled. Please, save yourself the trouble- although it's a very nice car, working on it is the downfall."

Pros: "Handles great, good on gas considering the power"

Cons: "backseat cramped"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Bought this car new in '97. Fun to drive, fits like a glove and still runs like new after 16 years. Hatchback allows hauling big loads, a plus. Backseat not comfortable for riding but who cares. I leave the seat down all the time and the dog loves it. I have replaced used parts from the internet without problem. Great A/C. Design still looks current. In fact I've had the younger crowd think it was something new, since they weren't alive when they were made. The only problem I have is that I can't part with it for a newer car. Not much to gain."

Pros: "Fun to drive, great gas mileage"

Cons: "Cup holders don't really hold cups secure"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I purchased this in 2002,from a local use car dealership. From the moment I first sat in my car... I knew this was going to be my baby. I LOVE MY CAR. I get great gas mileage 26 in the city about 30 on the highway. It's comfortable, fun, and I just love my car. The only bad thing is... in the past ten years I had to replace the transmission (thankfully cover by my warranty) and electrical problem which cost 2 grand. Cup holders don't work to hold coffee secure enough when making turns. But, great gas mileage 26 city 30+highway"

Pros: "Great value and a blast to drive!"

Cons: "Rain blows in the windows when cracked at speed."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"As far as cost of ownership this is by far a superior car! I have over 274,000 miles on it with the original clutch and non major engine work. I still get 36 mpg hi-way and 32 city! I wish I could find another car like this, I would buy two in a second!!"

Pros: "Good gas mileage, fun to drive"

Cons: "no cup holders, back seat tight for people over 5'"

"I have an 95 Ford Probe and it gets better gas mileage then some of the new cars out there. She's gets 24mpg & 33 mpg on the highway. I purchase this care used back in 2003. I get regular maintenance (at least I try too) and Red seems to take care of me too. Only two big repairs done to my car; transmission (under warranty, didn't cost me a dime) and electrical(out of pocket $2000). My sister drives a new Toyota and it seems to be in the shop more than she drives it and her gas mileage is awful. All and all I love my little "Red" car. :) I'm now running into new problems since she is so old, they have stop making parts for this car. I have to shop at junk yards. But, Red doesn't drive like an old car. She still drive like the first day I got her. AWESOME"
