Marking its 6th generation, the Ford Mustang is all new for 2015. It features a fresh-yet-familiar exterior design, a revamped interior, and a new engine choice in the 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that actually makes more power than the standard V6.
In anticipation of a major redesign next year, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic model, the 2014 Ford Mustang gets only some different paint colors and package contents. The Boss 302 model is dropped and the Shelby GT500's horsepower rating climbs to 662 (previously the temporary "over-rev" spec).
2013 Ford Mustangs receive minor tweaks to their exteriors, front and rear, plus added technology like the Track Apps software to measure performance, upgraded audio systems, and more power from the 5.0-liter V8 engine. A new supercharger gives the Shelby GT500 a monstrous upgrade in power, with its V8 churning out 650 horsepower.
The 2012 Mustang receives a new selectable steering setup that includes Sport, Comfort and Standard modes, and the Mustang Boss 302 limited-run model debuts touting 444 horsepower. New features available on the 2012 Ford Mustang include dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, a remote garage door opener, the Reverse Sensing System and HID headlamps.
The 2010 Ford Mustang's maxi makeover brings more aggressive looks, improved dynamics, greater comfort and higher quality – real and perceived – all of which are impressively reinforced by a host of enhanced features and options. For the first time ever, AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control is available – and standard – on all models.
With the arrival of the 2015 Mustang, Ford has successfully reinvented an icon. After 50 years of production, America's venerated ponycar has been revamped for modern times to raise the stakes among rivals like the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. Gone is the archaic live rear axle, replaced by an all-new independent rear suspension and interior amenities fit for a premium car. And while some will scoff, the 2015 Ford Mustang is available with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in addition to the standard V6 or the GT's growling V8. Yet for all its updating, the Mustang coupe and convertible retain the power, value and dashing driving manners that have fostered 9-million-plus sales over half a century and countless more fans.View Ford Mustang vehicles for sale near you.
