Shiny like new exterior

"This car has excelled in mileage (27-30mpg) for the size of the car, is the most comfortable car I've ever driven, handles like a sports car, still has the gleaming paint and look of a new car, seats 5, has enormous cargo space, and is just a pleasure to drive."

"In the 3 years that I have owned it I can't fault it. Great on gas, always starts. It is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There is room in the back for my dogs and room on the roof for luggage."

Pros: "Great value, good mpg, reliable"

Cons: "Cheap interior"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"This has been an awesome first car for me and will continue to be for a long time! This car has gotten me to and from without any issues whatsoever. Yes the interior was built cheap on the base model but not too cheap to the point where it's uncomfortable. No center console, rpm monitor, power locks, windows and mirrors on this one but it GETS THE JOB DONE. It has a little pep which is nice when accelerating onto the freeway. A great car. I think I'm going to keep this car for a long time."

Pros: "easy to maintain, good commuter"

Cons: "no power windows, no power locks, no keyless entry"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I bought this car used in high school as my first car, and I'm still driving it today! It's been great, always gotten me from A to B, never broken down on me, and relatively good on gas. I've been commuting daily for the last year, and the mpg keeps my wallet happy ($25 filled the tank last week). Keeping up with the basic maintenance is all that's ever been required, which isn't too expensive since the car isn't flashy so parts are affordable. Just over 100,000 miles on my odometer and 12 years old with no problems in sight. My only complaints are the lack of power windows, power locks, and keyless entry- I can live without these features, but they would be nice."

Pros: "Very reliable, Great handling, Great visibility"

Cons: "cheap interior materials."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"After owning the car for over 10 years and only paying a little over $14,000 in 2005, I have to give value a 10. I have put a total of $350 worth of repairs because of a wheel hub. I think that defines value. The quality of materials, especially on the interior are not great. many hard surfaces especially along the windows where I like to rest my elbow with my arm on the steering wheel. There is also a little bit of a rattle somewhere in the dash that can be heard when cold outside and sitting in idle. The seat materials must be made of alien material because even with constant beating up and two 80 lb dogs. there is no rips or even real signs of wearing on any of the seats. Quite amazing. Having the hatch back is great for cargo. The list of things that should not have fit or weighed to much is much too long. I did however fit a lazy boy chair in the back(reclined). My wife loves to drive the car daily because she drives on busy highways and city streets during rush hour, because she said she can weave in and out of traffic like a go-kart. It has fantastic sight lines. Blind spots are very minimal. We have taken this car across country and it never skips a beat. The back seat leaves something to be desired for passengers as there is ample head room but not go great hip room. Possible for three adults but don't drive more then 30 minutes if you want them to like you. Exterior is a hit or miss with people and some call my car a jelly bean. It does however have amazing ground clearance for a compact car and that helps this thing do amazing in snow. With a great set of tires always on my car, I have never been stuck, including in the blizzard that hit this winter. Body is free from rust even while living in the snow belt. Overall this has been a great car for me and my family but it lacks a lot of the modern safety features like side airbags and ESC. But if you can find one that has been taken care of, expect it to last a very long time."
