"squeeky brakes on my 2005 focus. been to two dealers and an independant mechanic, all say it's common on this vehicle and not much of anything can be done abt it. ceramic brakes comes with the car and thats the suggested replacement, but no guarantee it wont sqeauk. rest of the car is Excellent"
"Storage space comes in handy. Had early reservations, but have come to like the car and have not had any problems at all. Use the car for work, picking up kids, and picking up large items. Have come to enjoy the car."
"I bought this car from the first owner almost 3.5 years ago. I wanted something that could be modified so that it would stand out. The availability of after-market parts is impressive and inexpensive. My Focus has been very reliable, great on gas and attractive with 76,000 miles. I would definitely buy another one."
"Sadly, this little car - while a workhorse and a good deal for the price I paid - has way too many service issues to buy the same model again.
From Day One, this car has had recall and service issues from the windshield wiper motor, to the CD player, to the door latches, to the filters, to the clutch slave hydraulic system. For most of them, I had to convince my service dealer that the problem was real and needed to be addressed. I recently had to PROVE that the clutch was leaking brake fluid into the cabin of the car, despite having had "comprehensive" 60,000 mile service which assured me that there were no leaks whatsoever.
The overall price of this car was certainly good when I bought it. It was a nicely equipped car with lots of bells and whistles and electronic options for the dollars I paid to own it. But the upkeep and repair issues have been expensive and time consuming (even when the dealer or Ford covered the costs due to a recall or a "known service issue - like the front suspension springs being "inclined" to break when going over insignificant bumps in the road) because I have had to take the car to an independent repair location to locate and/or verify the source of the problem.
I would not buy this car again. And I would heavily research ANY Ford model prior to purchase with the available services to ensure that there were no or fewer known issues from the model. I am also much more inclined to stay away from Ford vehicles until/unless they show a better understanding of the consumer's need to have accurate information about the cost of any vehicles' upkeep."
