I own this car - My approximate mileage is 290,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "All of the above. New trucks need window wings in"
Cons: "Front fenders don't hold up after 150,000 mile."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Best truck I have ever owned. Low maintanience. Great fuel mileage. Great ride. Pulled 36' Trailer for years..Still going strong. Wouldn't ever buy anything but a Ford. They need to bring back the 7.3 DieselEngine like this one.."

"Owned this truck since 1997. I have only put 55k miles on it in almost 16 years. It has NEVER let me down. Been camping, haul rock, fire wood, motorcycles. You name it and it will pull it down the road. Dragged a 32 foot boat 300 miles for a friend. Huge cab seats six very comfortably. A/C still ice cold. Normal wear and tear; rotors, calipers. Just change oil every 3k, and transmission fluid every 20k. I put a B&M shift kit and a Haynes Transmission cooler, and I tell you the E4OD it a beast! Ran three inch exhaust to let her breathe, and a K&N free flow air filter. Gets about 10mpg empty downhill with the wind behind her! Leaf springs are stiff, and the mono beam front end rides rougher than the newer Fords."

"The 7.3 crew cab dually is one of the best towing, daily driver, consistent, long lasting truck I have ever owned. Wouldn't trade it unless for a newer 7.3. No other truck compares."

"The truck runs great, looks great, and does and goes anywhere and anything i want it to. I've put this truck through the test of being out in the country and hunting with it and it stood up to every challenge without failure. As long as you take care of it and do regular maintenance to it, it'll take care of you."

"This is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. Even with it not being the "infamous" Powerstroke. Wouldn't even think of one of those after owning this for 6 years. Parts are less than half of that of a powerstroke and with a little effort and money, they will run side by side all day long. Much easier to work on too. There are limited aftermarket goodies for these old IDI's, but enough can be done that you would never know the difference between the two until you had to replace common parts. The biggest advantage of this truck is the body style. These will be highly collectable if you take care of it and hang on to it. I get offers all the time to buy it just from everyday driving around. The superduty body style has flooded the market and will never hold the value compared to the early to mid 90's body style."
