"I bought this truck in 2004, had one owner and 20k miles on it. 7.3 Ltr. Turbo, 6 Speed, manual transmission, comfortable for long drives and tows my 39' Triple Slide out fifth wheel effortlessly. It may not have all the "Bells and Whistles" of some of these new trucks, but hey, Trucks are for dependability and durability, not to just cruise and look cool. Oh yes, they are also made of steel, not "Plastic and fake tape on chrome. Yup, FORD TOUGH."
"I've had to make a few repairs, as is expected on any vehicle with this many miles.
The only truly bad thing about this truck is the hydraboost brake system. At low speeds, the steering wheel WILL NOT turn. This is a known issue which Ford does not care to fix. Besides that, it's a truck, and does what a truck should"
"This truck has been a lemon from day one. Fortunately I bought the extended warranty when I purchased it new otherise my expenses would have been much higher. Stranded many, many times with kids and horses in tow. At last count I had 8 alternators replaced and thats just the tip of the iceberg on the repairs for this truck. My file is almost an inch thick of repairs which total 3/4 of the original cost of the truck. A good friend has the same truck and he has had identical problems. He junked his last year, Im junking mine this week. I will never buy another Ford. Their customer relations is pretty awful at the dealership level. I complained to corporate and they told me to pound sand."
"I use the pickup to haul my 8 1/2 foot artic fox camper and pull my 18 foot boat. It has air bags installed on it I usually wax it once or twice a year. It has new batteries and new 285/75/16 all weather tires on it. It gets driven about 3000 miles a year."
"Replaced motor 30K miles ago and have paperwork warranty to 50K miles. Runs great. Includes gray Tonneau soft cover. Bought new and drove to work and back, approx 100 miles a day; last 6 years only drove in late fall through early spring...and stored it other months due to driving our better mileage convertible to use in other months. Seasonally, pulled 16" boat and wagon with our cut wood. Snowplowed our own, 1 neighbor and mothers (average sized) driveways first few years when needed. Gave plow to son 5 years ago. Bought new Ford and want to sell this. Very reliable hard-working truck with clean interior. Love my Fords! No major wrecks."
"I love this truck! Everything about it says "quality". I put in a large deck and when they put all the lumber in my truck with a fork lift, it drove just like it does empty. I also pull my camper with it too. Takes any load perfectly. The seats are super comfortable. Overall totally awesome."
