The 2014 Ford F-150 receives a new grille, with HID headlights now on XLT and higher trims. XLT and SLT trims gain new 17-inch wheels, while power telescoping and folding trailer side mirrors are offered as a new option. Limited trims will offer a new Marina Blue leather interior.
The 2013 Ford F-150 receives a new grille, available MyFord Touch and a new Limited trim that includes navigation, rain-sensing wipers, HID headlights, red and black leather seating and polished 22-inch rims. The Raptor and SX4 models gain standard Hill Descent Control.
The 2012 F-150 pickup receives a few important new features, beginning with the addition of Hill Start Assist and the inclusion of neutral tow assist on all 4x4 trucks. A new automatic 4x4 system is added to Lariat and higher trims, while a new FX Appearance package adds flat-black wheels and accents, black leather seats with red piping, and FX graphics. The FX Luxury package gains heated and cooling front seats.
Four new engines mark the big changes for the 2011 Ford F-150: a 3.7-liter V6, 5.0- and 6.2-liter V8s, and a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. For the first time, a six-speed automatic is standard on all F-150 models. Other new features include the use of electric power-assisted steering, an available 4.2-inch LCD message center, a larger in-mirror rearview camera system, and a telescoping steering wheel.
For 2010, the MyKey programmable vehicle key is made standard on all models except the base XL, while the upscale King Ranch and Platinum models gain heated second-row seats, power sliding rear window with defrost and a Sony six-disc in-dash CD changer. 4x2 models with the three-valve 4.6-liter engine see improved fuel economy.
Though it utilizes a great deal of what has made the F-150 a perennial bestseller, the 2009 model is all new. Key changes include rugged "big-truck" exterior styling, a roomier and more refined interior and a new top-of-the-line Platinum trim level.
Ford is making a big change with America's most popular truck: For 2015, the all-new F-150 becomes the first in its segment to have an aluminum body, setting it apart from competitors Chevrolet Silverado, Ram 1500, GMC Sierra, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan. The move to aluminum makes the new F-150 capable of hauling more payload, and its weight reduction improves fuel economy while making it possible to use a smaller engine to power the full-size truck. The F-150 has best-in-class towing and payload capacity, yet is also one of the most luxurious trucks out there. It runs the gamut from base XL to XLT, Lariat, cowboy-tinged King Ranch, and top-of-the-line Platinum, with 2- or 4-wheel drive, and regular, SuperCab (extended) and SuperCrew (crew) cabs.
