The 2012 F-150 pickup receives a few important new features, beginning with the addition of Hill Start Assist and the inclusion of neutral tow assist on all 4x4 trucks. A new automatic 4x4 system is added to Lariat and higher trims, while a new FX Appearance package adds flat-black wheels and accents, black leather seats with red piping, and FX graphics. The FX Luxury package gains heated and cooling front seats.

Four new engines mark the big changes for the 2011 Ford F-150: a 3.7-liter V6, 5.0- and 6.2-liter V8s, and a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. For the first time, a six-speed automatic is standard on all F-150 models. Other new features include the use of electric power-assisted steering, an available 4.2-inch LCD message center, a larger in-mirror rearview camera system, and a telescoping steering wheel.

About Ford F150 Regular Cab

If Ford does one thing better than building tough trucks, it's selling them. Rising fuel prices and a move toward smaller vehicles have forced the company to revise its F-150 lineup by offering more features and options with an aggressive new pricing strategy. Determined to keep the F-150 America's best selling pickup, Ford continues to offer a dizzying array of configurations (a total of 60 in all) as well as a new 5.4-liter V8 Flex Fuel engine that can run on E85, a blend of 85-percent ethanol and 15-percent gasoline. Tough competition from Dodge, as well as new lines from GMC and Chevrolet, will keep the fire under the F-150's tires, which could very well translate into some great deals for the savvy consumer.

"I purchased my truck new in Feb 2010 as a left over 2009 at a great price. I have since driven 19000 trouble free miles and have loved every minute of it! The truck is currently worth 2k less that what I paid for it new(as if I would sell it). Mine has the 4.6L 3V and 6-speed trans. It pulls my 18ft boat (fiberglass runabout with a 4.3 i/o) like a freight train. I have gotten over 23mpg on the hwy and average 18mpg in a mix of mostly city driving. To say that I love this truck is an understatement. The smooth responsive ride and quiet cab is amazing. I love all of the extra features ( SYNC, steering wheel audio, etc) that the truck has with just the STX trim. I test drove all of the half tons and Ford had them all beat. Don't send you money to Japan;buy the best truck available, BUY AMERICAN!"

"5.4 V8 getting 15 mpg. Great ride and comfortable. My 3rd Ford truck and I would get another. Quiet inside with no rattles - well built. I have the towing package - the side mirrors are awesome, great vision and very little wind noise when the window is open."

Pros: "Quiet, rides like a car, great mileage"

Cons: "None so far"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"To me, this is the perfect truck. With the Ecoboost engine, I am getting around 22/gal highway, yet have the power of the twin turbos when needed. It is extremely quiet and rides like a car. Spacious interior, with more leg room in the back seat than the front. the SYNC system is very nice and convienent."
