I loved my Explorer

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 126,200

Pros: "fun to drive and very comfortable"

Cons: "has a flaw where the back hatch has a crack in it."

"I have owned this Explorer since 2005. It has never given me any problems other than this year a little problem with the air conditioner. The paint still shines and looks like new. Very comfortable to drive. Someone stole it and I have been so sad for the last month. I don't want a new car. I want my paid for, pretty, reliable Explorer. I planned on keeping it for many years to come."

Plan on keeping this it until it dies

Pros: "great to drive"

Cons: "gotta keep the back up sensors clean"

first road trip to the beach

"In the year that I have owned this vehicle I have put just under 14,000 miles on it. I have taken it to the beach and on the beach, where I purposely got it stuck in the sand with advancetrac on and in 4wd auto and full air in tires, switched advancetrac off and locked it into 4wd and kept the air in the tires and immediately crawled out and of my hole. Even pulled a Chevy out too. Also took it up to the mountain for some off road snow play and never once thought I was going to get stuck, nor did I get stuck. Towed my parents camping trailer with ease. Smooth on the road and off the road."

Lots of problems

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 177,000

Pros: "Handles nicely and makes nice sharp turns."

Cons: "Transmission and poor interior hardware."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 3

"Interior hardware such as seat adjustment levers are poor quality. The door ajar light stays on. So far I have replaced the transmission, both front upper ball joints and hub bearings, heater door actuator, ignition switch,and alternator. This SUV goes through tires and brakes faster than any other vehicle I have ever owned. The transmission has internal design flaws with the solenoids and is expensive to repair. Do not buy this SUV unless the transmission has been rebuilt with design flaws fixed. One good thing is that the engine has been reliable but it is a gas hog."

This is the very best vehicle I have ever owned!

Pros: "So very fun to drive and ride in, and shop in"

Cons: "Nothing, except hope they still have in future"

"By far the very best SUV I have ever owned. Love it. Very reliable, safe, comfort, (would have liked to lower the console in the front seat to design it to make it even with seats) Other than this, it is so very wonderful. Ford's best job to me. Beautiful roadside viewing, height, driving, good for guest travel, long or short travel, heavy enough but not to heavy, and mine is an 8cy! Gets better millage than reported most of the time. Never know your in it, and never have wanted to get out of it! Wish I could afford to drive the country in it. Very Good SUV!!!"

Bought new one owner used mostly in town

"body clear no rust. Excellent both in and out. Garaged since new. Has factory cargo rubber cover. Rear 3rd row seats seldom used. Like new in all respects. Driven only by 60+ retired man only."
