"We 'just completed another road trip of 3,500 miles without a hitch or a cough from this car. (We did get a flat after driving about 30 miles of sharp rocky road.) Comfortable for long 250 - 300 mile day towing our little yvintage 16' Aristocrat trailer (approx 2600 lbs). Able to make 6 to 8000 foot summits without strain & powered up Tioga Pass above 40 mph, except when we were slowed by vehicle in front of us. Gets reliable 18 to 20 mpg on hwy & in town and 12 to 14 towing trailer. Holds amazing amount of stuff. Have taken many road trips & excursions to Baja including some extended off road jaunts.Only problem we've had was was w/ transmission when still under warranty, which Ford replaced & nary a problem since. I have kept up on maintenance, and about 15K ago replaced upper/lower ball joints etc. We feel this car had been exceptional value, and we expect to go another 75K. It's a great travel car; good hauler and very civilized in town."

"This vehicle is one of the smoothest riding sport vehicle I ever rode in. It has ample interior room that gives freedom of movement when traveling long distances, comfort and quiet ride, and mostly the vehicle is dependable in most any situation. Mainteance is minimal and basic as most vehicles. The Ford Explorer is dependable, sturdy, and a dream car to own. The downside to me is its feel top heavy when raining and around corners."

"I got my 98 explorer when my grandfather died last year, since then this little truck has been nothing but reliable and enjoyable. Wherever I want to go this car will take me, and it could not be more fun to drive with plenty of V6 SOHC power, and the 4WD system!"

"Got the car from a church elder when I was in need of a car to get from point A to point B. It has run great for me and my husband for almost 3 years now and is still going strong. It has been great when moving and for vacation trip and now that we're expecting our first child we are so thankful for a sturdy, spacious car that we know will keep not only us but our daughter safe."

"this is my gfs car great for most thing holds lot of stuff even used it to help move and its great you feel safe in it,and comfortable but it sucks gas like theres no tomorrow"
