"I have owned my 2003 Ford Explorer sport for 11 years now, I bought it with 12,000 miles on it and I now have 250,000 on it and my SUV is still going strong. I have the oil changed every 3 months whether it needs it or not, have the tires rotated every other oil change. My brother discovered that I was running on the original battery last year and "made" me get a new one... The only thing that I have had replaced was my alternator. My brother has changed the brake pads several times but the rotors are original too. This has been the best vehicle I have EVER had, and I will be sad when it finally gives up on me.I like the 2 door, but I know they do not make 2 door Ford Explorers anymore. I am single, and I would suggest that if you have kids that you should think about buying a 4 door, as it is a little hard getting in and out of the backseat. I have my granddaughter's car seat in the back.. thank goodness she is old enough to climb into the backseat herself, so I just have to lift her up and set her in the car seat. Love, Love, Love this vehicle!! Has never failed me."
"Nice interior with plenty of leg room. Specs say 5 seats, but only equipped for 4. Runs great and drives nice for a truck. rear window defective bolts allow it to move side to side and rub on the metal body. Overall, I really like this vehicle."
"I bought at 123,000 the previous owners hardly drove it only for long distance for work. Its not as roomy as I would of liked it to be. hard to get in the back seats. 4wheel drive was worth it. only had cloth int.would had something better. at 150,000 when the door locks didn't work. $200 for each side.Only did the driver side. Then the sway bars, the side runners rusting out. No major work until now. One of the timing chains is going bad! Its an overall reliable vehicle."
