Narrow year range (drag arrows to filter):
For 2010, the Explorer Sport Trac can be outfitted with the latest SYNC communications and entertainment system, while the Limited models gain chrome roof rails and side steps.
New for 2009 is the addition of Trailer Sway Control to the AdvanceTrac stability control. New options for the Sport Trac include heated leather seats, heated side mirrors and next-generation navigation with SIRIUS Travel Link.
New standard features for 2008 include a drop-in storage bin with power points, side-curtain airbags, fog lamps and a power rear window. New options include voice-activated navigation and the SYNC hands-free communication and entertainment system.
The 2007 Ford Sport Trac is the second generation of a vehicle that started a sub-trend: A truck, with sport-utility characteristics, four doors and a rather short cargo bed, and an assortment of ingenious features to enhance the anticipated active lifestyles of its intended buyers. It's not quite a sport utility vehicle, and it's not quite a truck. On the large size in this group are the Chevrolet Avalanche and Cadillac Escalade EXT, while more directly competitive in size is the Honda Ridgeline. The previous Sport Trac was based on the Ford Explorer, as is the newest version. But since then the Explorer has grown up, both in size and sophistication, and so has the Sport Trac.

"Overall, I really enjoy this vehhicle. The Sport Trac meets all my needs for hauling a family of four, towing our 17' boat, daily driving and the added utility of a bed with a locking hard tonneau cover. This vehicle is very easy to park and maneuver and the IRS really makes this vehicle corner like a car. My Sport Trac has the V6 and 2WD and has the Limited trim package. My two teenage sons are auto enthusiasts and enjoy this vehicle quite a lot. My wife is 5' tall and is not intimidated to drive this as she was with our F150 SuperCrew. Positives outweigh the negatives and based on my experience I would recommend this vehicle. If Ford were to redesign this vhecle, I would ditch the boat-anchor V6 for the new V6 going into the 2011 Mustang. The sluggish performance combined with poor fuel economy doesn't add up. Current mileage is 14 city/20 highway and could be better. I replaced the Michilen tires after 26,000 miles with B F Goodrich Long Trails and immediately noticed an improvement in ride, road noise and increased traction in snow & ice. I just have a few minor complaints such as a very squeaky fan belt whenever it rains or goes through a car wash. Three visits to the dealer hasn't solved this problem. The plastic trim both inside and out breaks easily, such as: Liviing hinge on overhead console snapped within first six months, side trim on driver's seat falls off whenever seat is adjusted, elastic straps on hard tonneau cover break easily, and front plastic end caps on running board break off when snow or ice builds up. We love the rubber floor instead of carpet as our truck gets used and our two boys aren't always careful with their dirty feet."

"The Sport Trac is a Very comfortable, stylish, and a powerful Truck. The Sport Trac rides much better than a Truck, more like an suv. The V8 is powerful. Gas mileage is as good/bad as advertised. It is as good on gas as any of the other mid-size 4-Door trucks from Toyota & Nissan but with much more power than the competition. If Gas Mileage is a major concern, buy a Car, just don’t buy a Truck. Any of these Trucks, regardless of the engine, 4 cyl, or 6 cyl, or 8 cyl, will have relatively low mpg. I am willing to give up a few mpg in order to have a powerful Truck instead of a Car As far as “resale”… I paid below the Invoice for the Sport Trac. The Ford Dealers were willing to negotiate and there were Rebates. I had looked at the comparable Toyota & Nissan 4-door trucks. Much Higher Price for the Nissan/Toyota trucks (with less options than the Ford). I ended up buying a Loaded Ford for the same price as a stripped Nissan or Toyota."

"Love the look, room, ride and utility. At 6'3" I'm comfortable driving it and room behind me for a real adult. Wish Ford would replace 4.0 V6 with more fuel efficient technology. Excellent to take grandkids fishing and pulls boat easily. Overall would recommend...Ford, please improve fuel efficiency. 16 city and approx. 20 highway at 70-75MPH."
