I own this car - My approximate mileage is 52,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Roomy, tows great, handles superably, rugged"
Cons: "Poor gas mileage-same as Excursion w/smaller block"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have always bought Ford when I started earning enough to buy new cars. All the way Ford lover. I once owned a used Suburban which had nothing but problem after problem. I purchased the Excursions, when it first came out, and fell in love with it. I felt like I had made a big mistake going from the Ford Taurus to the Suburban. After having purchased two different Excursions, I couldn't see moving to another dealer once my 7 kids where up and out of the home. I didn't need the size of an Excursion I bought a used 2005 Explorer from the dealer. No difference in excellent performance both on and off road. Tows like a champ and rides like a Cadillac. I love the design. It's spot on with the Excursion the only difference is less room. It's a tough car and no matter what I use it for, it's extremely functional and durable."

"I have loved this truck for eleven years. It has been reliable. Gas mileage pulling a small camper of 18,000 lbs has averaged 15 mpg. Nothing at all to complain about. I have made sure oil changes and other care done on time and it has served me better than any vehicle I've ever owned."

"The vehicle is 12 years of age and still looks and performs great. Gets 20 MPG average (not gunning it) and with service ever 5-6K miles it is still reliable and ready to perform. Remember, it is a truck and do not expect it to perform like a car. Am selling it for $8,400 which is a testimonial to the value they hold. I recommend this vehicle to you...it looks and performs great. Get the step up rail and get a lid for the box as it gets about 1.5 MPG better with it. Enjoy."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 252,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "rear folding seats, sturdy, good gas mileage"
Cons: "N/A"

"This truck is kind of like that dog you really love... I bought it new in 2001, and now have 252,000 miles on her. She still rides great, gets 20 mpg on the highway, and I get compliments all the time. I just put on my 4th set of tires, and have had absolutely no problems. A few minor fixes to the interior control buttons, but nothing serious. She looks great inside and out! Love the rear folding seats and rear power window feature.I would not hesitate to drive her any amount of distance. It is with mixed emotions that I am thinking about selling. I have always said this truck should be a testimonial for Ford, and it really is the best vehicle I have ever owned!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 114,500
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "O.K. mileage, good passenger/leg room,"
Cons: "Light rear-end, small bed."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6
"Most people I have talked to either love, or hate, this vehicle. We've owned it now for about 6 years, and never had any problems out of it until about 6 months ago. The timing chain guides broke, requiring the motor to be removed. Other than that, it's been very reliable. The only other thing that I have had to replace were bulbs, but that's bound to happen with any vehicle. If I could change anything about it, it would be that there would be more weight distribution to the rear end. If your not careful, it can and will turn into a 4,000 lb merry go round on wheels."
