The Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package now includes an integrated trailer brake controller, available on XLT and standard on Limited and King Ranch. Working with the Expedition's ABS system, it provides improved trailer braking when compared to aftermarket units. For entertainment, Limited and King Ranch models offer a factory-installed DVD system for rear passengers and 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels.
The Ford Expedition's 5.4-liter V8 is now Flex-Fuel ready, meaning it can run on either E85 or pure gasoline. New standard equipment on all Expeditions includes heated second-row seats, rain-sensing wipers and an anti-theft perimeter alarm system.
Although Ford's Expedition (and other large, truck-based SUVs) may be in market decline, there remains a need for vehicles with their capabilities. In the 2008 Expedition, Ford hopes to meet or exceed that need and, not incidentally, hold onto its share of the market.
