Pros: "RELIABLE"

Cons: "Air conditioning went out"

"My father bought this car in 2003 used with less than 20,000 miles. He handed it over to me in 2010. For his job, he drove the Escort all over the country. I now drive it to work that is 20 miles away. The car is currently up to 155,000 miles and I honestly feel that this car could last 50,000 more. In the history of the car, there have never been any mechanical issues. This car is extremely reliable. Low maintenance, handles well in the elements, and is safe. The car has been through 3 accidents and still runs like a champ and can handle any beating you put upon it. It's not fancy, it's just a car, but it gets the job done, and can perform that job for years to come."

Pros: "fun to drive"

Cons: "nothing"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"WOULD KEEP THIS VEHICLE IF ESTHICALLY IT WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING GO WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE IN 16 YEARS. I HAVE RELIGIOUSLY DONE THE RECOMMENDED GENERAL MAINTENANCE. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN OIL LEAKS AND HAS ALLOWS RUN EXCELLENT, EVEN TO DATE. UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE ENGINE IS IN SUCH GREAT SHAPE WITH LOW MILES BUT IT NEEDS NEW DECORATING, SO TO SPEAK. WISH THEY WERE STILL MAKING THIS MODEL BECAUSE I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY ANOTHER ONE!"

Pros: "Reliable and good for small city driving."

Cons: "No 5th gear and leaky power steering pump"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 5

"Power steering pump leaks 5th gear is out, but can be replaced without having to put in new transmission, I took car to a transmission specialist and it can be replaced for $400.00 I drive it now and would like to buy it, but I have to pay for the repairs. I wrote down wrong mileage, it has 123,521 miles. I bought new front tires but it need rear tires. Need a fair price to give to owner so he can decide what he wants to sell to me for."

Pros: "Quick, reliable, cheap, dependable."

Cons: "Disposable car, not much aftermarket/performance"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"People need to understand a throw away car. These cars are excellent for the, respectfully said(like myself), less then fortunate. They are cheap around 100k and easily maintainable. Timing belts should be changed/checked every 50k-70k miles. Maintain your oil changes, spark plugs, and tires and you'll see how cheap they truely are. Ive owned 3 now, rebuilt 2, and getting another one soon. The Manual is exceptionally stronger on the throttle. Parts are cheap if your a DIY or an actual mechanic like me, work is cheap maintaining these. That can take abuse. Listen for noises get them fixed before it becomes more costly."

Pros: "Reliability in a big way."

Cons: "It might not be a looker... but it's a keeper."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love my station wagon. In fact I love it so much that I refuse to sell it. This car has gotten me through tornado like winds, college, a blizzard, hitting a deer, road trips... everything. This car has been the most reliable vehicle my entire family has come to know. My 'little-Debbie" has kept me safe since the day I got her as my first car in high school, and we all know new drivers need every last bit of safety they can get their hands on. Now that she needs some work I think it's only fitting that I restore her to "like-new" condition so someday (soon...) when she's an antique we can all look at her and hum the song "Forever Young.""
